I'm looking for a second box for my daughter and have seen this box an Openbox V8S for sale. It states it is a genuine box and not a clone. It is pretty cheap as boxes go and it is easy enough for me to set up. But I was wondering what any of the more experienced forum users think of this box allowing for the fact it is fairly cheap. Any remarks would be very welcome.

Thank you for this post. I tried the link and put the wire across the connector and it worked 100%. I have an Openbox S11. It boosted the signal to 100% and all the missing channels are up and running 100%. Great fix.

Hi if I could just add to this. I'm having a very similar problem in that some channels are not coming on. Example being Sly Sp==ts 3 and 4 and no Disney at all. The strange thing being they were all on the box no problem until a few weeks ago. I put the latest firmware I could find for the F5 and still no joy. Could anyone advise which firmware would be best for the box. Thanks.

Thanks for your replies. I found out it was a cloned box. I got a serial cable and followed the instructions to fix a dead box. After a few attemps it started to work again. And take my word for it if I can do it, anyone can as I am a complete techaphobe. regards.

Hi my brother recently asked me to update his Slybox F3 channel list but while I was doing this the box bricked as it turned out it was a cloned box. I'm sending for a cable to reset the firmware on his box as per instruction on this site.. But is there any channel list that is safe to use on a cloned F3 box? Thanks for any reply. My brother was thinking of buying an Amiko HD box but with the HD channels going down at present would this be a wise move? Also if he did is there plenty of help for setting it up on the site? They seem to have a good name or do they? Thanks for any advice.

Can I just say thanks for this very helpful post. I was able to find out that my box is not a clone. I'm now going to look up about cloned boxes. Thanks.
