I have just bought a ***box F5 can this be used on a pc/Linux server or do I need a Vu+ or similar?
Before I get that can anybody recommend a sub card (not ***) that I could use for sharing?

Thank you for the reply theram but I don't know anybody with this sort of equipment so I cannot ask for a share?
I don't mind paying a fair share of a sub or is that against the rules? I am not going back to ***, will any other networks be any good to share??
Like I said I don't mind paying a fair amount? Plus I want to setup a server as soon as I know what I am doing with a client?
This stuff is interesting and I need to learn more about Linux as well.

Hi voyager, Somebody has finally told me how the cline thing works at last! I don't mind buying a sub but there is no way I am going back to ***. Can you recommend a company that will work on my F5 while it is still pointing at the *** sat please?

Hi Beefybawz, read your post and you say you got your first cline from your local?? I thought you meant local pub? But I think you meant your local CS buddy?
So how did you manage that?? Did you have a subbed card to share in the first place??

I get it now I think? You cant play unless you have a *** subbed card for you to share and a box that can act as a server?
To be honest I was going to try to set up a server after I got this bloody thing to work as I believe in putting something back.
I would like to learn more about Linux too?
But there is no way I am going back to ***
Anyway it has been interesting guys and I can always use the F5 as a freesat receiver?

Forget that last post! I see it has a slot but I thought they were on the front? how do I read the card details? Can I use this box without a card as I don't have a working sub.
I am struggling a bit here guys! can somebody explain it to me like I was a ten year old?

Hi guys, It seems I have made a mistake by buying a ***box F5? As it does not have a card slot I am assuming it cannot CS? Is this correct?
Reading other posts it seems you need to have a receiver with a card slot to read your subbed card and you then share these channels with other users in your group? Am I getting warm?

Hi voyager, I am a complete newbie so where would I get a line from? I have a couple of *** boxes with cards but they are not subscribed? Are they any good as in the cable gear you made your own cards. Not that I did obviously! I have a few people who have *** subs but how does this help me? I really need a step by step idiots guide and if there isn't one I will write one from being a newbie with a new F5 box delivered? Which is what I have. So basically is the F5 as delivered a freesat hd box that can record for 50 quid? As that seems like a good deal to me as *** wanted 150 quid for a freeview card! I have just got a youview box as well and they seem interesting??? Oh and thanks for helping!

Ok guys, never touched anything this complicated before so forgive me if I am asking stupid questions.
Can somebody explain it to me as if I was a ten year old before I have a breakdown!
First, Did I miss the party and all these boxes are going to stop working soon because of pairing? In that case I have only wasted 50 quid.
I had an F5 delivered this morning and have had success flashing it, no problem there. Loaded a new channel list, again straight forward.
It works online for you tube and porn tube (well I had to test it honest!), and weather but it does not work?
But here is where I am getting lost??
Yes I have looked in the card sharing section and looked at the tutorials. it was mind blowing. It seems to say I need to set up a dns host and run this stuff from a PC server??? Wow
My box is not Linux based ( I think?) so does all that apply to my box?
Where do I get a cline from to put in the cconfig.file?
