you will configure it on a PC through a web interface to connect to your router.

Then when you plug it in to your receiver it will appear as if it was a cable connection directly to your router.

I have 2 higher grade access points with external antennas going about 30 metres across the street to link 2 networks together. The wireless link appears invisible to all traffic

a previous set up of mine was quite versatile if you have room for 2 dishes.

I had 1 Triax TD88 with multi holder which had 13 east, 19 east and 28 east on a 4 way switch then the fourth output went to the motor so the most common satellites would just switch on the multi lnb holder and anything else would use the motor.
saves wear on motor as well

So you reckon that kit's ok apart from the mount ?. I know by the time I buy the kit for the multi sat ie, lnb's, quad lnb holder, diseqc switch, I would probably be half way to paying for motor set up. Also I would deffo get the full arc where I'm living. So it seem's the best way to mount a motor sys, is on a scaff pole set in concrete in the ground. It provides for easy access should I have any problems?. I hope I'm on the right track ppl.

Yes easy for access but make sure it is high enough to be out of harms way, people knocking into it etc.

you can use some T K brackets with a 2 inch pole as well for a sturdy install

The other main reason for people using some sort of multi sat installation is that you can have multiple receivers using the same dish at the same time by using twin or quad LNBs

Got rid of my motor a year or so ago as I was only watching the same 4 satellites, so seemed pointless.

I would personally go for a multi sat dish rather than a motor a lot quicker for zapping between satellites. If you only want 13 east, 19 east and 28 east you can go for a triax with multi lnb holder or similar dish.

If you want more satellites go for a Wave Frontier T90 or Maximum E-85 which will give you about a 40 degree spread of satellites

If you want more satellites than that you will have to go for a motor

The fans in the clone DM800s are rubbish and will become noisy and easily clogged with fluff and dust.

I have looked at a few lately and removed the original fan on the heat sink. I then cut the cable with the fan connector just below the heat shrink sleeving which covers the resistor which is used to drop the voltage.

As the DM800 gets so warm inside it is not practical to use an internal hard drive and if you do it will soon fail with heat.

So I used the hard drive tray for mounting some larger fans which I removed from a HDD cooler.

I cut the metal on the end that went across the hdd tray which you need to do to stop the fan blades fouling on the metal and it also means you can just squash the 2 ends together so the holes on fan will line up.

I found for a single fan a 33 ohm resistor soldered in line on the power connector will make the fan run almost silent.

Below is one modified using both fans and a 15 ohm resistor for dropping the voltage which makes the fans run faster . This is mine and I am not bothered by the fan noise.
    It runs very cool.

have not used inkjets for years.

Go for a laser no more blocked jets and constant cleaning of print heads.

laser works out a lot cheaper per print, quality is not as good as inkjet for photo images

If you note the gain figure is a minimum on Inverto Ultra so expect to get better gain than that .

A lot of manufacturers quote Typical Gain which is an average so is deceiving.

Inverto Ultra has a range of 60dB min to 72dB max depending on frequency

Do not forget every 3dB is a double in signal power

have you tried removing the bottom half of your master telephone socket and plugging the filter directly in there, this will eliminate any problems on internal telephone wiring as it will be connected directly with the main cable coming in.

you will get better speed and more reliable connection with a filtered face plate so that the broadband is filtered on the main socket before it connects to any internal wiring.

If your router / modem is not connected to your main BT socket then this can be a problem as you have to use internal wiring.
