hopper is right. I was having the same trouble and had to realise - that the second after you click next then you power on the amiko.
the way I did it was have the power adapter plugged in to the wall and hold the dc jack at the back of the box. then the second after I clicked next on the loader I pushed in the DC jack. worked straight away. Thanks to freck and hopper for their help

Hi, I also have trouble with the webtv side of things.
I can connect to the box, view channel lists and even change channels but I cannot see anything. I have updated vlc player and adjusted settings according to other forums but alas still no video !

You have moved to the top of my Christmas card list freck . Worked exactly as you said with the power on trick. Just shoved in the dc jack at back of box when it started .

Is it possible Paul that you have the new version of the box.
I loaded software the other day and bricked my new one . I have flashed a good few of these before with no trouble but this new batch is seemingly resistant to non official software .
I hope to find some one who can help , I have posted in the wont boot thread.

I reckon ive fried something in the box???

Box goes to HDTV boot logo and then says-

SW is not designed for this HW, please change back to official SW ! --------0e080a00001ff1

you'd imagine if they ask you to revert to original software that it can be done !
Amiko mini combo HD latest version

I have downloaded the two files ( tool and fw ) and have an old dell laptop with rs232 port on back.i have used this for flashing dreamboxes before.
is the 3.5 jack to rs232 cable, that came with the mini combo box, nulled??
the php file for the tool - how do I open this? ive tried stb erom and it says stb memory error

I would be very interested in a response to shakeapaw. I am also in the same boat with my combo. seemingly new models of the box are not taking unofficial software.
I have flashed plenty of these via usb and this is the first one stuck like this on boot screen.
It says the software does not match the hardware, please revert to original SW . ive been told its something to do with the chip ???? no idea personally

but I'm only used to using a usb key and .abs file to upload a channel list. this php file doesn't seem to work. is this for ftp and if so is there an instruction anywhere on the net how to do this?

Hi Guys,
I have just bought an Amiko Mini hd SE for the first time.
I already have a Triple amiko , mini amiko and amiko 8840.
Can someone point me to a link for an uptodate uk channel list.
Is there a how-to anywhere for this box? its just a different format to the software on the other amikos.
Any help would be appreciated
