The price to begin with :snicker:

Ok solo2 has two built in sat tuners, you can't take them out & replace them. Where as duo2 tuners are inter-changeable. You can have two dual sat tuners or one dual sat tuner & one aerial type connection tuner etc etc. Duo2 can be fitted with a 2.2 or 3.5 HDD where the solo2 can accommodate a 2.5 HDD only...

Duo2 has a lcd screen on the front of the box along with the normal VFD display, solo2 has VFD display only. Spec \7 speed wise there is not a lot in it to be honest. Both are cracking boxes and are worth every penny in my opinion...

Get your new box up & running first, then make that decision... once you have the new box going you will probably realize how bad a sly box really is :snicker:

If your no longer going to be using your slybox while you have your new enigma2 receiver running then the two outputs from your sly dish will get you going no problem buddy.

Where are you creating the backup duo image too??? hdd or usb stick? would it be possible that the dm8000 image was already on the drive? I would delete the dm8000 image from whatever source you have it on and create a new backup image for the duo. See if that makes any difference?

ok so i have my main server with all clines etc and at the next hop i have my viewing box, but how do i find out which peer i am using to view a certain channel? i am unable to see anything in webinfo which shows this

    [peers]----[Server]----[STB]

Is your server running in a box or a pc??

The official explanation of it from their website is this:

Samba is software that can be run on a platform other than Microsoft Windows, for example, UNIX, Linux, IBM System 390, OpenVMS, and other operating systems. Samba uses the TCP/IP protocol that is installed on the host server. When correctly configured, it allows that host to interact with a Microsoft Windows client or server as if it is a Windows file and print server.

Some images require you to have it running for you to be able to see your box/network drives etc on the home network

It's been a long time since I use the openpli image to be honest buddy... any options in mount manager to be able to mount a network drive? can you check if there is a option to start samba?

Here's an example of what it should look like if your nline is connecting cccam to the oscam server ok...

You ftp the ipk to the "tmp" folder buddy, then green button followed by yellow. Install local extension...

All the boxes come with the original firmware already I installed, but the sponsor will flash on (free of charge) either ViX, Blackhole, Vti or Openpli if you request it when ordering...

And if you send him a private message on here (PM) he will also give you a discount code to use on their website.

Yes, your exactly right. You can get ViX, Blackhole & Vti teams images for your Vu Duo.

The only real difference is that each image is made by a different team... they all more or less do exactly the same thing. Different layouts of the GUI (General User Interface) etc are the main differences that you notice first.

I would start with ViX, available here: Openvix latest images Build 808 is the one you want. ViX is very user friendly for a beginner and easy to navigate. If you need help on how to flash a new image to your box follow this tutorial:
