Not sure was confused with the choice of ccam install options there but done that and it fired into life on the rest of my channels
This will make the house a happier place.
I'm sure there is much more i can do with this box but my god it was hard work getting to here for an idiot anyway...
It would be much easier if you installed the Backup Image from this forum which already has ccam/mgcam/oscam and save yourself from the trouble
That does sound easier, got the ipk of the ts thing and linuxsat support installed, and stuck and confused again would like to watch the F1 in the mancave tomorrow so can have a smoke while its on .....
Really do feel like a luddite....

ok, this is turning into a bigger job than I thought.
Found those addons, and have FTP access to the box, but where do I put the IPK files/unzip ? I'be downloaded the addons now
Sorry for being so much of a noob, I've tried looking, but its of course so basic nobody has asked ... I can see where i can access the plugins on the box (cross epg etc already there) once there are in whichever directory

Ok, my S11 in the man cave broke, so i bought a XP1000 from the site sponsors.
I'm a bit of a luddite but get most things sorted, and put my cccam.cfg file in var/etc and restarted the box.
Its not working, sure the file is right, its been suggested that i need to start.restart the cccam on the xp1000 - how do i do this?
Thank god the server didnt break now that my mate that set it up for me lives in Spain!
Trying to get this working so I can go to the man cave and watch the F1 .. struggling.
Did the auto buquets
Added my cccam.cfg into var/etc
Using webif to select channel until i can sort a larger usb for storing the EPG on

Get an xp1000 you will be a lot happier at £129 you can do and watch a lot more things with it as far as streaming movies and plugins
Not at the moment! I cant do anything...
Turned it on, went through the setup it found all the channels - but all I can see is a "openvix" picture.
Tried reading up, more confusion. I assume i dont want to "upgrade image" as i got the VIX image pre loaded.
Going to try a fresh scan....
Its also crashed/rebooted a couple of times when I've been looking through the menu's "your blah blah encountered error - rebooting in 10 secs and then a load of setting i guess that have confused it.
I'm such a luddite...

Ordered it, had a read up and not really the wiser what its going to do for me exactly. However if its more stable and I can see that you can wangle a 7-day EPG plug in so all good. Seems scarce on channel lists for these, or I'm blind or stupid(monkey) but I'll try and get my head around it.
Went for Vix software as reading a little seemed to be the one most liked.
I'm sure I'll fumble my way through and work it out :)
Thought about spamming for the extra £5 off if I had 10 posts on here but I dont know enough to post anything worth while posting about this stuff :)
The S11 did sometimes hang if left switched on, but thats about all I can fault it with until now. (thought it was the fuse but swapped that and can hear the transformer buzzing but it just doesnt work)
As far as streaming stuff, I have a laptop for that - both laptop and S11 plugged into my HD TV.
Really I only use the box for a few hours each week, I'm not really bothered about new features, a 7 day tv guide would be nice and easier advance recording for some stuff but really not that bothered.
I'll have a look at a XP1000 and see what I get for the extra - thanks for taking the time to reply. :)
I have had the S11 for 18months and to be honest its done all and exactly what I need.
Somebody else set it up for me so I cant watch the F1 / films etc in the man cave.
I don't mess with it - other than updating the channel lists as they change.
I've read some of the other jargon-filled replies in this part of the forum and they mean nothing to me.
Looking on ebay for £50 I can get a S12, S16, F5S, X6 and many many others.
As I said, I was fully happy with the S11 did everything I needed - especially after finding AJ's channel list regular updates on here
So which £50 is most reliable with regular channel lists posted here, or convince me I need to spend more.
