Please reign in your attacks/aggression. He has posted a balanced review in his opinion. I am sure people will read it objectively.

You are entitled to your opinion without being attacked. So are others.

Friends, I only react to comments about me, not to my post; and just as he published his opinion, I published mine. I think the forum should be a place for exchanging opinions and mutual help. That's all. No hard feelings on my part.

Yes it's clear, it's a guy who works for GTmedia because to say good things about a device like that, he really doesn't know anything about it and the price as Njofrica says is completely wrong, find it for 40 euros.....

First of all, I'll correct myself, I actually paid $66 shipping included for the dec and not €40; I exchanged it for the sat finder that I purchased together. Having said that, I see that despite having clarified it, I was sure that someone would suspect that I was a mole for GT media. A little difficult since they have all the resellers in China, however if you like to think so, go ahead. What I don't accept, however, is the lack of objectivity in the judgments and also that someone claims that I don't understand anything about decoders. Anyone can do the search in all the sat forums, I have been a member for over 20 years in the majority of them, I have been a moderator in 2/3 forums and many, even in the section. Italian people know me about this. But, evidently, a brat who has been frequenting a forum for 2/3 years is enough to speak badly of a user like me. Another thing that annoys is that, evidently blinded by their own arrogance, they write things without evidently having read the whole post or, more likely, without having understood anything. It seems very clear to me that I wrote that comparing an e2 machine to the v8uhd is a real joke, no one who understands it at all would do it. But since you insist, I deduce that perhaps it's not me who "works" for Gt Media (which I didn't even know until 20 days ago) but perhaps you work for Vu+ or Zgemma. For your information, I have been using dec e2 since the dm800 days, today I have 4 e2 decoders and some boxes in the office full of old decoders. Finally, a note: if you are free to speak badly of a dec or in any case to post your thoughts, know that I am equally free to post mine. This even if you don't like it. Finally, I can't post links to retailers here, I assume, but I will be happy to pm you the site where I purchased it. Here I will only put the image of the cost of the order without references, so you will have confirmation not only that perhaps you understand little about that dec but that you don't even have the slightest experience of where to buy things at a good price. Good continuation

personally I recently bought a v8uhd, for the sole purpose of seeing if what was said around the fw mars was true. And I had read so many bad reviews similar to yours. However, once tested on the field, without going into the merits of the mars fware (but confirming that what is said is true), I can say that from the "technical" and daily usability side the dec is not a slut. Obviously it certainly cannot be compared to an e2 machine, not even a basic one, but for "ordinary" use it can be more than fine. It connects well to the network, has no problems or restarts during use (if not absolutely sporadic), in normal channels the zapping speed is acceptable (for the "others" a little less). It is quite responsive to TLC commands and the remote itself has good tactility. I tried connecting a 1 tera hard disk to it via USB and the recordings are good. Ultimately, I don't understand what anyone can expect from a Chinese NON enigma2 decoder that costs €40 and what sense there is in comparing it to Linux decoders that cost from €100 to €400. Of course, even if the channel list does not have a stupid editor like for many others and if you want to modify the scanned ones you go crazy, but there are lists from well-known settingman to load, even for motorised ones; the tuner also supports unicable and motorized ones and has a reasonable sensitivity. It has DVBT2 and S2X multistream..... Not to mention that, with those expensive decoders e2 we all have, you don't even see half the channels you can see with Mars. Of course having those features on our e2 would be the best... but for now there isn't that possibility so... the purchase makes sense if you use it for that, otherwise I don't see the need to buy it to defame it... that's all . With this I don't want to be misunderstood, I'm not a GTmedia sponsor and I don't intend to promote it in any way....just for intellectual honesty here, so in my opinion, for the cost it has and the use it allows you if you get the rest , it may be worth it.

sorry, these files are only for upgrade to mars software old v8uhd boxes or for what? I mean, I buy a new V8uhd from Gt media store directly, that arrive me yesterday, so how can I check if it has already mars software onboard or if I've to update it? and, in this case, can I upgrade via usb or I need rs232 cable?

You can't converte it in enigma 2, but you can boot it in enigma2 mode or in android mode. For make this you've to prepare an SD card with one e2 image in, put The SD card in the side slot and Then reboot and choose enigma2 in boot menu (you've tho make choice in the first 5 Second at boot). Tomorrow I'll send you in Pm a link with instructions to prepare sd
