    Thanks everyone....

I used the following image to reflash the box and everything works fine. The image allows me to enable the sat tuner and disable cable and terrestrial tuners. I selected the 28.2 bird on the sat tuner, did a scan, everything works perfectly.

Special thanks to Iame for detailing how you flash the box.

I have just received my DM800se (single tuner) from China. When I boot it, it loads an image that says "Sunray 4 Powered by CNIGMA (Sim2)". The image has english language which is fine but only has the Asian satellites to search against and I cannot get it to load europe satellites. The networking is setup and hard disk installed - all working fine.

    1. Anyone know how I can get it to load/install european satellites (namely Astra 22.8E - Sly)
    2. There is alot of talk on here about SSL84B and sim2.10. How do you find out exactly what version of SSL and sim you have?
    3. Would it be better to flash a new european image to it. If so, which one? On ealier deambox's I did prefer the Pli images

    Thanks in advance,

Would anyone know how to get Freesat EPG on a DM500s. I have searched around and the closest I can find is PLi Jade on Enigma 2 which will not work on DM500s.

    Many thanks,

I have found a manual to do a JTAG on an OpenBox S9 on another forum...It's in Spanish but it may help someone. Please note, I have not tried it myself so cannot endorse it. I am unable to upload it here due to pdf file size of 469KB being larger than the allowable upload file size on here.

I have a couple questions. I hope you can advise.

1.If I have been given a cline and I add it to lets say for example a DM500s or DM800. Can I set up multiroom with other DM500s to use that single cline?

    2. If you were setting up a cccam server and wanted to get maximum (cline) usage from your local card. What kit would you use. eg: is a fast PC running debian/ubunto and a specific card reader (recommendations welcome) faster than a DM800. Assume there is a very fast internet connection. Can you cache the EMM's for faster response times?

    I look forward to replies.

The test cline I received originally was from a payserver. A kind member of this forum provided another test cline and that 2nd cline was as if I had a local. Fast channel changes and not a single freeze.

With the help of this forum I now know what to expect from a good cline.

Thank-you linuxsat-shares and more importantly the forum member.

At long last, I have managed to get a free test cline. It works :eyebrows: It is only for 24 hours but it keeps on freezing to the point the "scrambled" pop-up box appears and then disappears with the picture resuming. Clearly this is not acceptible but it is only a test cline.

Is there a way on an openbox to check the reliability/speed of a cline?

    Damm...
Received my openbox S9 today, plugged it in, did a full scan on 28.2 and free channels are working fine. I can see the CCCcam and the Newcamd cams and was hoping to set it up as a server. From reading on this forum, setting it up as a server, would invite clines. I still do not understand why. Not sure if my CS terminology is right but I am looking for a cline to check (first time) functionality.

    Thanks guys,

Monitor was the wrong word to use, it should say "Flat screen TV".
22" flat screen TV is too big...A 12" netbook would of been ideal as I could use it for other things. Never mind, I am sure there are smaller flat screen TV's around that I can use.

    Thanks again,

I have taken the plunge and ordered an Openbox S9. My situation requires a small 10" to 15" LCD monitor connected to the box. The obvious choice is to use a small LCD TV with HDMI. I was wondering if anyone knows if a Netbook (any recommendations greatly received) could act as a TV monitor in this instance either using the HDMI or composite video connections.

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi Jim, only a quick thought, What software package did you use to edit the config? If it was a DOS based package like "Notepad" then as an example, line 1 would look like this when using the Dreambox unix editor Vi.
    C: abcd.dyndns.tv 12000 abc 12345 no { 0:0:3 }^M

It could be this 'Control M' (^M) at the end of the line that is causing the problem. The ^M does not show when viewing as HTML.
