Hello all. I am a novice at Linux and need some expert help. I am streaming from a HLS URL where the token and keys change either on a 24 hour basis or 20 minute basis depending on which token is used to generate the query string.

Currently, I am updating the .tv bouquet file manually by generating the new token and then inserting this into the .tv bouquet file then rebooting the receiver but this is proving to be too tedious.

I was wondering whether there is any way of creating a realtime lookup to the relevant URL to generate the token and insert this?

To give a bit of context this is what I need to do to currently create the base URL+query string:

1. Go to xxxxxx/tv.php site to get hdnts string (expiry is 20 minutes from point of generation)

2. Append this hdnts string onto base URL: xxxx/tvchannel1/index.m3u8?hdntsstring from1 then go to this URL. If I use a web browser, the result is several bandwidth EXTM3U locations which need to be appended to base URL (expiry is 24 hours from point of generation). Note that I can stream immediately from this new URL but it is not worth entering into the receiver as the expiry is only 20 minutes.

3. Select relevant HD bandwidth from 2. above which creates a new query string to append to base URL

4. Create new base URL+query string from 3. then insert this into bouquets tv file and reboot receiver

Can anyone kindly tell me if there is a better way of doing this please such as creating a dynamic lookup and/or writing a small script which could do this for me. I have no idea about scripts otherwise I would do this myself but keen to learn! Thank you

Ok - just found out looking at mount manager:

Device: /dev/sda1

Mount: /media/hdd

Size: 1.82TB

And for some reason (I guess previous flashexpander installation), the following:

Device: /dev/sda2

Mount: None

Size: 1023MB

In the information panel, it says the following:

/media/hdd Size: 1.91TB

/dev/sda2 Not Mounted

Is that ok?

Thanks Emo. I have a slight dilemma in that both my external USB sockets are used by an external HDD and a wifi dongle - I don't have an internal HDD or a USB stick. How do I therefore use my external HDD with flashexpander whilst retaining all my recordings in the fstab file? I think this is how the problem first arose.

I have an issue with a genuine dm800se and the latest openatv 6.2 image whereby the main menu automatically appears on inactivity when watching a tv channel after 10-15 minutes. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?

thanks for your reply - after a lot of searching I thankfully found all the recordings under /usr/media so the flashexpander changed the fstab file !

Question I now have is can I actually run flashexpander concurrently with my hdd and use the same hdd for my recordings without interfering with my recordings?

hello - please can someone help...I mistakenly chose to install flashexpander on my hard drive where all my recordings are but in the process it has wiped all my recordings. Does anyone know how to recover the recordings? Has it simply deleted the partition or erased the drive completely?

Thank you MasterG. When I try installing any of the cccam's from the universal feed file you attached, I keep getting errors and nothing installs. Am I doing something wrong?

hi - thanks for this update houara. The problem I am having is that it is fine after initial boot but if the power is cut then I get the Dream logo on the lcd and it freezes at startup with the dhcp message and x-3.2-dm800se-gz. It is then fine if I reflash but then the cycle repeats. Any suggestions on what to check?

i have a genuine DM800se running the latest version of opendreambox but need to install cccam. Please could someone kindly advise which files I need?

I FTP'd it into a tmp folder then ran the file from the box directly using the offline installer so nothing visible on screen, will the telnet route be any different other than displaying the errors?

Don't know what the errors were, how do I tell? There are a few versions online, which one should I choose?

Daft question but how do I install the oscam plugin? where do I FTP that file? Also I don't seem to have an /etc/tuxbox.config I only have an /etc/tuxbox folder, is this the same thing?

Just an observation, when I clear channels using the server method, it always uses 0963 (as opposed to 0960) and when I use the card, it only uses 0960 as the red card is 0960. So could it be that as the card does not support 0963 that it will not work? Can you use an 0960 card in a 3rd party receiver?
