Enigma 2 Utility 2.3.2

Enigma 2 Utility is a channel editor for Enigma2 receivers and Mac OSX. It uses sftp to transfer files.

First time you launch the program.

Enigma2utility is an unsigned program. The first time you try to run it you will see this message.

You have to click on cancel. Then open your system preferences on Security and privacy and click on open Anyway.

Launch Enigma2utility again. you will see this message.

Click on open. Enigma2utility will launch with a double click next time you want to use it.



The tool is provided as is, without warranties or guarantees of any kind".

It runs on 64bit Mac OSX. It requieres java 1.8 or better. You can also use OpenJDK

This program allows to download your channel lists from your receivers, change the channels order, add new channels and send back the lists to your receiver.


To use it you have to :

1- Edit the preferences to put the settings to contact your receiver

2- use the download from receiver command to download the settings from your receiver

3- use the show user lists command to show the lists available, if you click on a list you can see it's content

4- use the show main channel list command to show all the channels available on your receiver

5- You can use drag drop to change the order of the channels in the list

6- when ready use the save changes locally to store your change

7- Use the upload changes to receiver to send your changes back to your receiver


This program stores your password to connect to your receiver in the prefs file in clear.

The file is saved in the Local directory path as defined in the preferences.

Remember to delete this file if you think it is needed.

    The files downloaded from your receiver are now stored in your document folder.

    This allows you to update Mac os without having to re enter the settings. It also allows multiple users to use the program on the same computer.

    The application does not need a JDK any more. It is now a full Intel app. I have plans to make a native ARM version as soon as I can have access to an ARM Mac on a regular basis which is not the case for the moment.

    Solved a bug in the timer tab that would stop the interface elements displaying correctly when creating or editing a timer.

    On the EPG tab a button "watch on tv" allows you to show on the TV the channel that you have selected

    On the Control Tab you can start an immediate recording of the channel shown on the TV set. You can record the current program or make an unlimited recording.

    You can also change the sound level going to the TV or put it in mute mode.

    Improved IPTV support. You can now add new IPTV channels to your bouquets.

    On the watch recordings tab, if you click on a recording, you have access to the description, file length and file tags if available.

    Thanks for this release and for your hard work! On my iMac 13,2 with Catalina I get the error message that the file is damaged and should be moved to the bin. I tried downloading again and it makes no difference. I would appreciate your input please. Thanks!

    • Hold down the ctrl-key and click on the file. Select Open from the context menu. The file will be verified for a moment and then you will be offered a dialog box with two options: Open or Cancel.


      This happens with all applications not notarised or obtained through the App Store and is there to prevent "Mom & Pop" launching bad-actor software by mistake.
