  • I don't have any experience with this, but it looks like you need to use his kodinstall first... https://github.com/tnds82/kodinstall

Some linux distributions disable remote root login by default. You need to login as a normal user, then su to root.

You can check if this is true by looking at /etc/ssh/sshd_config and look for this line:

    Code
    PermitRootLogin no

(Also, if root has no password, you will need to create one before you can login as root.)

  • yeah i was trying to log in a user to make root pass , aswell encase of auto disable, dont know if it was that or not tbh never knew the location to check in so
thanx for info i'll be trying again to get this to work ive now grabbed a few kodibunto versions to play with openelec is ok and works easily enough but is very limited
on what we can install to it i think well for laptops/pc devices anyway in my eyes i did hear there was away to run a shell thugh on openelec and be able to run more comands like auto chans 28.2 scrips for tvheadend but not got round to that yet in ive not seen a massive differance in performance between openelec or kodibuntu either really there both about the same just obv kodibuntu has more flexibility in linux terms anyway :).

many thanx for the info i knew it would be simple what i was missing :) ill report back my findings when i attempt this again :)
