updated my box through update when box was on but now box is stuck on start up mode and cannot reflash with usb as REC LED goes red but standby LED comes up as purple then goes off then turns blue, so I cannot follow USB flashing guide, Any help on this would be great!

What image did you try to upgrade?
Have you tried re-flashing the bootloader.

also ensure all usb in hdd are unpluged when trying to flash stb another good idea is to try another USB or tried in tested USB used before
to ensure USB is compatible some USB dont flash some stb from what i have seen in read from others many times :) -
i used openvix latest off world of satellite website but carnt flash or do the bootloader because standby button wont go red when I turn box on, so I don't know what else to do?

Disconnect all usb attached storage etc..
Try another usb stick for flashing.
In the image folder on your stick, there is a file called "noforce".
Try renaming that file to "force" (without the "") and see if it will flash then.
Try all usb ports.
If it does flash and reboots, power it off and remove your key as it may keep reflashing since you've renamed the file. -

go back to an older image and are you trying different usb's? try an openatv image]
