Tip if you are changing image and store motor positions manually

    • Official Post

    I'd been slow to try new images as my Sat positions are stored manually (hadnt time to setup usals).

    This is an easy way to do it.

    From the config page of the tuner that the motor is on note the sat name and the position that you stored it on.

    Backup your settings with dreamboxedit and install new image.

    Restore the dreamboxedit backup.

    Now go in to the tuners config again and setup the sats with the values you noted above and test to see if OK.

    All should be fine, it worked for me on PLi, VTI and Gigant images.

    The dreamboxedit backup takes a copy of the settings file at /etc/enigma2/

    There is lots of good stuff in that file to help you see how it all comes together.

    Open it with Notepad++ and you will see lines like this.

    config.Nims.1.advanced.sat.3592.rotorposition=7
    config.Nims.1.advanced.sat.3592.usals=false

    These are the references to the SAT positions.

    This might also be a help for those with complex multi LNB configurations.
