Setting up Mgcamd 138 on DM500

    Naming mgcamd


    Hi


    i want to try mgcamd as CCcam and CCcam+ Oscam has stopped updating my card $$$.uk i cant find the appropiate ipk file without any luck, so i'm now trying to set it up manually.


    i run a dm500 as a server so i've tried naming the binary file (it's 1.38 btw) to mgcamd only, it didn't work so i tried mgcamd.mips that didn't work either, i removed the .mips that did no good, so tried mgcamd.ppc didn't work renamed that to mgcamd that didn't work.


    what should i be doing and any help with the other 2 files would be appricated.

    Create an F line in CCcam for Mgcamd, paste the C line into cccamd.list in var/keys, if its not there, create it with notepad++.


    The c line must have ip address of the dm500 server like so, C: 192.168.1.6 user pass (change 192.168.1.6 to your own ip address).


    Edit mg_cfg to enable CCcam like so.

    ok mate


    installed the Gemini image and it runs cccam+oscam by default, i edited my files and all's clearing ok.


    i'm running a mac and getting an error 403 message and cant access the oscam server.


    but with that aside.........where does mgcamd come into the equation?


    i think i'm well off the pace with mgcamd does it not run as a sole emulator as in CCcam alone?


    Oh and i've got an XP lappie getiing the 403 message on the as well :ah:

    You need to edit the [webif] parameter in oscam.conf to match your network ip address range, or put your servers ip address here.

    Mgcamd is only a client EMU, if you want to update entitlements with Mgcamd, then oscam or CCcam will be needed also.

    i had to uninstall the recommended image as i could get no Oscam info then to late i found the same post by someone else that advised another user with the 403 problem, difference is i read his post properly (lol)


    so i reinstalled the back up image and put the bloody line in as suggested by you, i've now got CCcam+Oscam running and updating my sub.


    think i'll let mg_camd ride for the time being.
