  • Hey guys,

Having some issues starting my CCcams. Im using the VU+ Solo 2 running the latest version of ViX.

I have ftp the cccam.cfg to /etc and also /usr/softcams. When i open the Softcam manager and start the cccam it starts to spin but then goes back to the Softcam manger window and the cccam still hasn't started, beside Active: its blank. I can enable the startup but that's it.

I have tried both versions of ccam.cfg - 2.3.0 and 2.2.1 both the same issue. Iv tried two different providers using two different sets of c lines but that doesn't seem to make a difference either.

I only have the box a week and just got around to setting it all up today but im getting stuck on this last bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Hi Master G

I've seen you give this advice previously and it sounds simple... but how do I send the .cfg file to the /etc folder when I am reading the forum on a Windows laptop and I'm looking at a Xtrend ST8500 box sat under my TV? I'm hoping this fancy box I have invested in will one day be able to access loads of good TV, and even the internet and so on, but at the moment it is severely limited by it's operator!

  • You use an ftp program on your laptop to transfer the config file to your receiver.
There are a few, dreambox control center, filezilla, winscp.
Start the program, enter your ip of your receiver into the "host" section followed by user (root) and password (dreambox or whatever the image has specified as the password)
You can then navigate to the required destination and drag your config files across to that directory.
By right clicking on the required config file when it has been transferred, you then can set permissions/attributes (normally 644 is good enough for config files)

So the first thing was the Autobouqets-E2, i had to go into plugins and download the Autobouqets-E2 extension, then i ran a scan using Autobouqets-E2 and it looks like it complied a list of channels - Is this pulling a list of the sky stations ?

It's re-arranging them in the same channel numbering/format as an official receiver, depending on how you set it up.

I also downloaded the CrossEPG for Sky UK, again not sure what this was for.

That's a plugin for downloading your epg (electronic program guide) to your receiver in order to give you a 7 day program guide.

The openvix manual will explain everything you need to know in great detail:

We're going a bit off topic here, could you post further issues in the relevant forums, otherwise all information is spread all over the forum.
