i emailed the company that ddaddy and daic1 used to buy their DM800's re the availabilty of the DM8000. i noticed a dubiuos uk seller has them in stock at ?375. here's te reply i got
If many people request it then we will make some stock available. This is an expensive unit. We will take note and might add it in the future.

anyone up for it? i know the duo+ is the same price so i dont hold out much hope. but i like the idea of adding tuners etc
