The Unread Posts list keeps increasing in length. Is there a way to 'mark read' all the old posts ?

Marl All Forums Read on the right.
Many thanks. :)
Is there anyway of turning this count off for good. I think most users of this forum only visit certain sections anyway. I have hidden lots of the sections, but some I might want to visit now and again, but not really interested in knowing on a live basis that there is new posts in it.

I will look into it.
After you have hidden some forums, do you still get unread post notification for them ?
i don't think so. Just every unhidden i think..
We need this plugin -> Board Subscription
But it hasn`t been ported to the latest version of woltlab suite yet.
I`ve removed unread posts option from the forum drop down menu..
Its counting the unread posts on the forum icon, so you need to still click "mark all forums read" to get rid of it..
Its not the perfect solution but works until i can find something better.
Keep it the way it is or go back to the old way ?
it was only the main one at the top that was bugging me. i.e you have 147 unread posts. I am not too bothered about the individual counts on the forums threads as they can be useful.
Thanks.
I`ve managed to remove the counter from from being calculated on the forum icon / unread posts by adding css to the style, but it also removes it from the forum list.
i think that might have removed it from the notification bell as well. We need that one.
Just leave it as it was if there is no quick option to remove it.
I am sure we will all get used to it :)
this is the class you want to display none
.mainMenu .boxMenu > li > a > .boxMenuLinkOutstandingItems
not badgeupdate

I`ve just added that.
Let me know how it responds.
That works fine on the default theme black ops
I don't know how these forums software work regarding bring in stylesheets for different themes.
But would it not be better or possible for you to create your own stylesheet that is called after the theme stylesheet.
Then you can override all the installed themes in one go with any changes like this.
Its pretty simple adding the css.
Copy / paste / submit into each theme.
So it's all hub/dashboard based.
can you not do something like this in the source code. Just think it would be easier to keep track of any amends or overrides you do everywhere.
You might get lots of requests to tweak this and that.

I`m going to restore it to how it was for the time being..
As it is the unread posts are useful for admin and mods to check every post.
We don`t have any other plugin or notification for latest posts yet.
Once we can find a better solution for all i will disable this for you buddy..
