morning all, bit help needed please, I have a alien 2 been running it no probs for a while now, and decided to upgrade the image to the vix4 image, working great and like the image, the problem I have is iam not sure how to set the oscam up. I was wonder ing if there was some sort of pack for cams I could ftp to the box, on other images I just download a oscam and convert my lines and ftp to box

There is no cam pack for this image as its not supported.
If its anything like the original openvix image you just FTP a compatible oscam to /usr/softcams folder > change permissions to 755 > restart GUI then start oscam from softcam manager (blue button).
No start script is needed.
I you have a Cam pack for other images, use the oscam from that.

the new vix4 (still should change name as its nothing to do with vix) for the alien2 is now openatv based with kiddacs skin and a few tweaks, there is only one oscam to install and thats in the feed
ok thanks for replies its oscam sh4 in softcam list, but I am not sure how to set that up, is there a firmware you would recommend that's similar to this vix one as I was using the hyperion image

If its now openatv based use this -> Openatv 6.0 universal softcam feed
Install ipk -> Openatv 6.0 universal softcam feed
Restart GUI
Press green button x2
Softcams
Download oscam from this list
Convert your line with this -> Camsconverter, cccam2oscam, mgcamd2oscam
hi downloaded file and ftp to box says its installing through ipk install but dosent show up in plugins, noticed it says 0 files installed with0 errors for some reason.
Its not a plugin. Its a softcam feed.
Press menu > plugins > green button > softcams
ok lets start again, the latest vix4 has oscam in feeds, it just needs to be installed, if you add any other softcam feed it could muck the box up as it would need to be the sh4 one for the alien2,but no extra plugin feed is needed
once that has been done you will find the oscam.server file in usr/keys (some use another folder ie usr/keys/openatv/ but not this image) its this that needs editing you need to use the lines below changing server,port user and password

Thnks master g for that, could you tell me what goes were, as I normally just convert to oscam and ftp it into keys.

The configs i attached in post #5 go to usr/keys folder.
Your c line would look like this in oscam.server:
[reader]
label = power3 site
protocol = cccam
device = power3 site,10102
user = kixa
password = 79789876575
group = 1
Add a new [reader] for each line you have.
Only add the [reader] to oscam.server. Don`t edit the other files.
Attributes for config files are 644. But they will still work if you set them to 755.

If you have 3 lines, add 3 readers to oscam.server
Change the highlighted areas to your details.
Example C line and readers:

but it seems to be closed . I am looking for oscam 11518.ipk or later for an amiko alien 7162 chipset sh4 archicucter. Hope you can help I need ir for sky de

Hi valdooney, i updated the link for you mate.
Its not an ipk file, but follow the instructions above for how to add a bare oscam file.
