i can figure out how to extract to .ipk format. please help. running vu ultimo 4k openvix 5.0.0020

You don't need to extract ipk format to install the updated version on oscam.....

If your using VIX then stop oscam in softcam manager, then ftp into usr/softcams. In here delete the old oscam then upload the new version in here giving it permissions 755.

Restart oscam in softcam manager again and the new version will now be running.....

tried that but oscam does not go to active , restarted a number of times with no luck

Menu > plugins > download plugins > softcams > download oscam from here.

Or use the attached version.
