  • Hello All,

I am new to Enigma 2 and it really took me some time to figure out how to configure and scan the channels. I am documenting this so it will help a newbe like me in future.

    OpenVIX:

    1. Download the latest from here

    2. Extract the zip file to a directory say c:\Temp\OpenVix

    3. Copy the vuplus directory in to a USB Stick (Formated with FAT32)

    4. Plug the USB stick to VU+ Solo 4K box (front or back)

    5. Start the Solo 4k. It will ask to press the power button (which is present in the front side if you open the panel)

    6. Once the power button is pressed it will start to flash the box (Please do not disrupt when this is happening - box should be powered on all the time)

    7. Once flashing is done it will reboot (now you can remove the USB stick from the box)

    8. After booted up go through the menu to setup network and others

    Oscam:

    1. Download the latest from here

    2. Note down the Solo 4K IP address (Menu > Information > Network)

    3. Use a FTP software (e.g.: FileZilla) and connect to the ip address (username: root password: <just leave blank>)

    4. Navigate to /tmp (/var/volatile/tmp)

    5. Copy the .ipk file to /tmp

    6. Now go to the box. Menu > Setup > Vix > Install local extension

    7. Choose the .ipk - It will ask question to install say yes. GUI restart yes

    8. Once the box is restarted go to Menu > Setup > Softcam > Softcam manager. You should see oscam there

    9. Start the oscam by pressing green button. Also press blue so it will automatically start when you restart box next time

    10. Now from your laptop open a browser and navigate to http://<ip of vu+ box>:8888. This should bring back a web page. If that comes up then your setup is good

    N/C line:

    1. Download ccamtooscam exe file [You can get that by searching through the forum]

    2. Convert the c/n line and copy the text appearing in the text box

    3. Now again go to FTP client. Go to /etc/tuxbox/config directory

    4. Edit oscam.servers and paste what you copied in to it. Save it

    5. Now restart the box

    6. After box restarted if you go to :8888 the line should be displayed there

    Scanning:

Note down the Network ID from your TivoBox if you have one or google for a NetID

    1. I am able to scan only using auto bouquet manager

    2. Go to Menu > Settings > Tune cards > Auto bouquet manager > provider

    3. Choose whoever your provider (for instance Virgin Media UK and your network id)

    4. Save it and then scan

That is it. It should bring all the channels and arrange it beautifully. You can check this by using the URL in the browser http://<ip of the box>

    Skin:

I went one step ahead to install a VM HD skin. You can get it from https://linuxsat-support.com/thread/126129-vm2-hd-skin/

Hope this is of some help.

Special thanks to MasterG and car123

just one thing if you dont mind

here on your tuto you said

    Oscam:

    1. Download the latest from here

but the page is giving oscam for Only for OE2.0 / mips32el type images

and the vu solo 4k is ARM procesor so oscam have to be for arm like here _http://download.oscam.cc/index.php?&direction=0&order=mod&directory=1.20_TRUNK/armV7

    #######Is just a hobby #####

  • I am very glad you found this tuto useful.

Yup I agree the URL you provided is the right location. But since I dont know how to convert that tar.gz to ipk file I pointed users to that URL where they can request the latest ipk and MasterG is kind enough to provide us that.

I would be very happy if someone let me know how to convert that tar.gz to .ipk please.

    Regards
