  • Hey guys,

I'm having some problems trying to mount my Vu+ HDD to my dm500.

Here's what I did so far:

Done a clean install of PLI Jade 3 onto the dm500

The IP of the dm500 is 192.168.1.22
The IP of the VU is 192.168.1.17

The recordings on my VU+ are stored in /media/hdd/movie directory

I enabled the NFS server on the vu+ box.

I entered mount manager on the remote control of the dm500 to create a mount.

Here are my dm500 settings settings:

    Description: Vu
    Filesystem: NFS (automount ticked)
    IP Address: 192.168.1.17
    Mountpoint: /media/hdd
    Server Directory: movie
    username: (vu+ username)
    password (vu+ password)

I then hit yellow to mount and then get a message which says "mount failed"

Any ideas where im going wrong guys?

    Cheers

  • when you are setting your server directory then you need to set the full directory path of what you want to mount- so if you want to mount the /media/hdd/movie directory then you need to have the server directory as /media/hdd/movie (not sure if you need the first '/' - don't need this on my Vu+ so take it out if it doesnt work

The mount point is where you want to mount this on your dm500 - so if you want to mount this as a folder called 'movies' - then set your mountpoint as this

essentially i think you have got the mountpoint and server directory round the wrong way.

If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....
