  • I don't think it's a mounting problem because with the same installation procedure on the Octagon sf8008 everything works fine (see pic.3).

I'm using the non-VIP new version 9.78 to see if it actually works on osmio4kplus, but I get the same result as I had on older versions.

In version 9.65 I didn't get anything even if I mounted the HDD as UUID.

  • I used a new empty USB-Drive, formatted as ext4, mounted as UUID, but the result was the same.

NeoBoot does not work on Edision osmio4kplus.

FYI, Edision osmio4kplus does not accept any other multiboot plugins (OpenMultiBoot, EgamiBoot, OPDBoot, NFR4XBoot) while Octagon sf8008 accepts all of them.

  • I have Edision Os Mio 4K openpli 9 NeoBoot works everything OK. After reboot the pendrive is mounted and there is a choice of image

initialize the pendrive on the PC or use the console command:

    #mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdx1

    convert from ext3 to ext4

    #tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/sdx1

    correctly sdx1 - sdx1 is an example

send ssh or telnet command : blkid

    to see the disk uuid

Give a label and uuid for the pendrive. Add to the fstab file in /etc manually UUID, example:

    Code
    rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
    proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
    devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
    tmpfs /run tmpfs mode=0755,nodev,nosuid,strictatime 0 0
    tmpfs /var/volatile tmpfs defaults 0 0
    UUID=7xxxxx-f15e-8a47-xxxx-xxx81xxx /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0

    -

instead of the number 7xxxxx-f15e-8a47-xxxx-xxx81xxx from the blkid command use the uuid number

    reboot system

try it, maybe it will work

  • Strange, why doesn't it work on me? I have the osmio4kplus which should be like osmio4k.

I'll try again tomorrow when I have enough time to experiment.

This is the content of the fstab file with USB-drive connected.

    Code
    /dev/mmcblk1p1 /boot auto defaults 1 1
    rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
    proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
    devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
    tmpfs /run tmpfs mode=0755,nodev,nosuid,strictatime 0 0
    tmpfs /var/volatile tmpfs defaults 0 0
    /dev/mmcblk1p10 none swap defaults 0 0
    UUID=b79c2408-10ad-45e1-9425-44b5bf55146e        /media/hdd      auto    defaults        0 0

Should I remove the first row?

  • I removed the first row from fstab, but the result is the same.

Here is the result of "blkid" command:

    Anyway, I'll try again tomorrow.

Hi Gio, which sf8008 image accept openmultiboot??... openatv does not have it

  • I had read in the past that someone had installed OpenMultiBoot on the sf8008.

Personally, I have never tried this plugin on this box.

I tried it now on OpenEight which is py2, but although the plugin was installed, it failed because it can't install kernel-module-nandsim.

When I have time, I will try it on an older OpenATV version.

  • Here we are talking about Neoboot and not openmultiboot... you are using the wrong plugin
