Sorry for the newbie question!
I am told that my provider has locked or blocked my box and his service is rubbish.
So I am trying to get my box unblocked. However I am running into a lack of instructions and knowing what files I need.
Is it possible to get my box unblocked and it set back to factory settings??

I have a box, MAG 254, that the provider has flashed with his own image. That means that when i try to update with Infomirs standard image I got a massage that it is not allowed. I have not found any solutions other to flash the processor with new bootloader so I bought a new MAG256.

Not when your provider has put his own signed firmware on the MAG. Then you will get "Wrong signature". You must now the "password" for the image to update.

Yes 256 has emergency button but not 254, If anyone has a tipp to recover a MAG254 I woild be very glad. The custom firmware give "Wrong signature"

Only solution, for MAG250, I have seen is to program with JTAG https://www.ejtag.ru/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23 (Uou must make an account)
I received this patch to fix blocked portals for all mag devices in a PM
can`t test it myself, but could be useful to other members
if someone could test and provide some feedback it would be great
Install instructions:
To install custom mag firmware load folders onto usb 2(not usb3). Insert usb into rear usb slot. Then enter boot loader menu by holding menu key as unit boots from cold boot. Select upgrade tools (open by pressing right on remote) select usb boot and click ok.
