  • Unfortunately, the internal DVB decoder in the set-top box can not play A/V-stream from the UDP protocol. You must therefore use a UDP proxy (Udpxy open source project) that transforms UDP to TCP.

Udpxy installation package is also included in the OpenPLi image and can be downloaded from their feed source as IPK installation package. It should also be compatible with other Enigma distributions, but I do not guarantee 100% functionality (starting the udpxy service).

Udpxy daemon is also part of a better WiFi routers (you must to enable it and then use it as the feature on your router).

So, depending on the architecture of the set-top box, you can manual download and save the "udpxy" binary file in the "/usr/bin/" folder and then set the execution right to this file - "chmod +x /usr/bin/udpxy".

Use in userbouquet files has the following form:

    Code
    #SERVICE 1:0:19:13B4:C95:3:EB0000:0:0:0:http%3a//127.0.0.1%3a4022/udp/232.48.51.119%3a1234/:Markiza HD
    #DESCRIPTION Markiza HD

If you use remote udp proxy server, change the IP address from localhost 127.0.0.1 to your server IP. The code "%3a" means the special character - i.e. ":".The default port for udpxy is 4022 (this port can of course be modified in the startup script you find in "/etc/init.d" folder, after installing udpxy).

  • Yes, but this is applicable to "non-TS" via service number 4097 as software decoding, not for internal DVB decoder ("DVB-IPTV or MPEG-TS") via service number 1. This is not reliable for UDP. It is better to use an internal DVB decoder if possible. However, it does not work on the UDP protocol, so after the UDP to TCP transformation, the internal decoder will also work.

  • You have multicast IPTV probably? For this you need udpxy first in order to convert multicast to unicast. In OpenPLi you have updxy in feeds. You can also run udpxy on your router. For example Tomato software or Merlin software for Asus router support udpxy.

Then you need some software to convert your links to E2 friendly format. The best one I found (but not for free) is e-channelizer. Works superb with multicast links. Actually I can convert links for you for free (I paid for echannelizer). Send me PM with your list. EPG wont work!!

  • Hi guys,

I was reading this topic carefully and I thank S3n0 for giving a way to make udp streams playable !

However I'm in the precise same case as the threadstarter I can't get anything working here...

For your information, i'm trying to receive only 1 stream ! The stream comes out of a local computer with dvbdream. Dvbdream sends only in UDP to a specific port. Therefore I can relate that VLC has no problem to read that stream with the following format :
    udp://@192.1680.XX:YYYY

    For information, I'm on a DM920.

I (think I) managed to get the udpxy version for arm machines. At least, it seems to run when starting it with putty...
    I'm on a NewNigma² image.

I hope some of you can really help me :head banger:
