  • Hi guys, I am trying to FTP a ccamconfig file over to my box but cant get a connection with FileZilla.

    Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.128:21...

Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...

Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.

    Command: USER root

Response: 331 Please specify the password.

    Command: PASS

    Response: 530 Login incorrect.

Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

That's the message I keep getting.

I haven't had any issues with FTP before so was wondering is it an image issue??

    Thanks for an help guys.

  • More info, people.

  • thanks for the reply Gorski. Not sure what else you want me to tell you lol. I cant get a connection to my box with FileZilla and keep getting above mentioned message on FileZilla when I hit quickconnect. Ip address entered correctly etc etc. would it have anything to do with using powerline adapter although I am pretty sure I have FTPed the box before while connected this way.

  • Oych...

    Which box?

    Which image?

    Which parameters?

Have you installed and activated FTP on your box?

When FZC tells you it's not secure, have you chosen to connect anyway and add the exception permanently?

  • haha sorry dude, that info was in the thread title :whatthefuck::whatthefuck:

Its a zgemma h9s with Pure2 6.2 on it. that text I put above is what comes up on FZC when I hit connect it doesn't give me an option to connect anyway. I have never had to install anything to FTP to a box before and It has always seemed to work no problems before.

I have a 24hr test line so time is of the essence for me, any other way I can get it across??

  • Oych, usually it's like that, you look far and it's right under your nose or on top of your head...:laugh1: Presumptions, eh...? (Good on you...)

Well, I thought you knew about the password, as it's everywhere, from this forum onwards... Remember: IIYF! That is, if you do not want to search a little on this forum...

A piece of advice: do not be without a password, as this Linux is in ROOT mode, ergo no other protection! And best practice is to change the password, as soon as you install an image.

P.S. Lately, I have seen many posts where people do not give even minimal info, so in a few threads like this one, I wrote a set of logically following Q's, so people could follow a pattern...

For instance, with clone images, I noticed, a number of people complained of FTP and Telnet access and what was necessary was to get into Network settings and activate them, as they misbehaved strangely, at times... That's what I was getting at, also trying to inform where all the right buttons are, bit by bit... ;)

  • thanks Gorski......I think?? :derpthink::derpthink::lollz::lollz:

Just never realised some images have password protection. I have came from whooshbuild and it didn't have any!! What do people want into my box for anyway?? :whatthefuck::whatthefuck::cool1::cool1:!!

  • Oh, C, N and other alphabet business... ;)

Then, there are some sociopaths who like to do evil and mess things up for people...

Then, there may be "authorities" snooping around...

In short, Enigma by default comes with a password, as the only kind of protection, since you are in root mode in it, unlike other Linux distros. Not good not to have it. In fact, a deafult one should be changed after installation.

You learn something every day... and that makes one's day, doesn't it? :)
