Oscam for Asus Router

  • I'm led to believe it's possible to install oscam on the router? Has anyone done this or are there any tutorials on how to do this?

  • Use DD-WRT, which is more popular, but more complicated. It does not always work in every router and its configuration can be more difficult because it has more functionality.

Basically, you can use any firmware that has unlocked root and if it does not, then some firmware can boot scripts and binaries from the USB key (I think something like AsusWrtMerlin firmware).

Alternatively, you can make your script and put it in the firmware configuration. Script then waits, for example, for 2 minutes when the router boots, until the USB key is initialized, and then a binary (executable file, depending on the architecture of the chipset and the linux build type) of the appropriate Oscam runs on the router.

There is a lot of choice.

If you use OpenWRT in the Asus router, then you will be scrapped from the router, because it will appreciate the many built-in features used by laymen. Of course, in OpenWRT you can install different packages additionally but still not as complex as DD-WRT.
