    wget https://raw.githubusercontent.…eyBoard/main/installer.sh -O - | /bin/sh

    VU+ DUO 4K SE, VTi v.15.0.04 Image

  • ^ reading between the lines on the threads above there is an issue with creating an IPK due to compatibility issues between python versions.
The script actually fixes a python 2.7 subtitles issue from what I can see.

I have packaged this up as an IPK - it should work on python 3.* images. But I wouldn't install it on older python 2.7 images.

And if the IPK doesn't work for you - stick to the script installation method.

jedox - although you requested an IPK, this IPK will probably be an issue on VTI, as VTI uses python 2.7

  • Thank you for your prompt reply.

At the moment, I have absolutely no idea what’s causing the problem with this virtual keyboard.

I’m using two VU+ DUO 4K SE set-top boxes that are identical in terms of both hardware and software (both running VTi 15.0.04).

On one of these set-top boxes, I managed to install version 13.7 of the keyboard despite the reported Python issue (from the .ipk file). I installed NewVirtualKeyBoard on this particular set-top box about four months ago

On the other set-top box, I was unable to install versions 13.7 or 13.8 of the keyboard. I have recently been trying to install NewVirtualKeyBoard on this set-top box due to its practical usefulness and great appearance.

After installation via .ipk, upon restarting the receiver, the entire VTi 15.0.04 operating system boots with the standard, basic user skin (instead of the ULTRA-Transparent by Maggy skin I was using). The keyboard, of course, does not work either.

Furthermore, installation via Telenet does not work on this receiver either, following the instructions provided here earlier.

Both receivers have VTi 15.0.04 with the same Python version.
