after i set the password, the main problem is that the username such as "Root" or "root" isn't correct when i trying to control my Octagon via pc (from networks i find the box but i cannot login). i use windows 7

I've got a pc with Windows 7 on and I have no problems at all connecting with the decoders ( OpenATV 6.3 and 6.4) once I have set the password in Menu/System/Network/PasswordSetup (I use "root") , DCC ,Putty and Filezilla all work, probably reflashing and setting the password will solve the problem !
Have you tried setting up a network mount point for the PC ?
Menu > setup > system > network > mounts setup
Let's try this other alternative, menu / configuration / system / network / CIFS / SAMBA configuration and see if active: Auto-start: Enabled and the current status Active and not so then you have to enable it from the ok and follow the configuration procedure always ok and then it restarts, so you can connect with your pc's network, hopefully good.
