Policemen fighting economic crime from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Olsztyn detained a 49-year-old suspected of "sharing". A resident of the Mragowski poviat has illegally provided paid digital platform programs on the Internet for several years. As a result of searches carried out in three provinces, three sharing servers serving about 800 users were liquidated, a number of items were secured in the form of devices used to distribute the TV signal, TV set-top boxes, documents, telephones, SIM cards, money computers and digital BitCoin currency. A man is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
In the course of the Department of Dw. with the Economic Crime of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Olsztyn, it was established that a resident of Mragowo for over several years, illegally via the Internet, made available to a large number of people the reception of satellite TV channels in the full program package available on the market. He charged about PLN 360 a year for this service, which is much lower than a legal subscription. It was found that the money earned in this way was invested in the purchase of cryptocurrencies and real estate. In addition, he earned funds to hide their actual origin through accounts operating on the basis of virtual wallets and accounts in banks established on substituted persons, so-called poles.
The perpetrator acted very cautiously and hid his identity online while transferring illegally earned money.
