  • How to manage channels in OpenViX internally, i.e. without any external programs, which are not only a further complication but also another point of failure?

Or: which image should I install in which I could possibly edit the channels, including such nearly impossible things as (1) adding channels, (2) removing channels, (3) sorting channels?

Right now I am totally lost. I thought that I was not, but now I am. I cannot do anything, I am going around in circles, I have tried almost every possible combination of buttons and options, but nothing works and nothing is changed.

Every time I open the EPG, I have to wade through a shitload of 150 or so Hungarian sports channels and about 50 Romanian ones, too. And there is almost nothing to watch, except 1 porn channel, but I should have access to 3 more anyway.

E.g. DreamBoxEdit is (1) largely undocumented, (2) all the tutorials are probably old and obsolete, (3) the settings and defaults are possibly wrong [which I do not know because of (1) and (2)] and DreamBoxEdit is apparently attempting to download the directory "/etc/enigma2/", at which point it just craps out with the error message that it cannot download it and aborts it an I am back on square 1 without any progress. I do not know why DreamBoxEdit does it because of (1), I do not know what to do because of (2), and I am totally lost.

The user interface in OpenViX is horribly confusing and the experience is maddeningly frustrating.

Never in my life have I come across anything so maddeningly frustrating.

I am willing to throw it all away and install any image in which the list of channels could be manipulated at least somehow, be it in a bloody tedious way, but at least with some measurable progress.

  • What TV do you watch Antikapitalista ??

    What Satellite, which country ?

You may be able to use AutoBouquetsMaker from the plugin download menu

    AutoBouquetsMaker was the problem.

I eventually reinstalled DreamBoxEdit and the error messages of violations of memory boundaries went away.

Then I hand-picked the stations manually and uploaded them back using DreamBoxEdit.

The thing was that the provider was originally from Romania and came here through Hungary before being bought by another operator, whose infrastructure it uses now, but it has retained its original name, which probably causes this confusion.

    Enigma2 Settings and Satellites.xml

you might have asked in wrong section

openvix makes images for most boxes and you haven't mentioned any

Well, i had the file Satellites.xml generated by myself using a generator.

Anyway, thank you very much for going out of your way to help me, master G and @teak-won-do and others.

You have been nothing but helpful.
