I have installed the latest merlin Image and need some help as I don't know how to install plugins, Is there an easy way to install like an okpg tool? or do I need to ftp to tmp then telnet a command ? if so what command format do I need and what type of file is needed for this image ipk or deb? Thanks for any help.

DreamOS images like Merlin use the .deb version of plugins, not an .ipk, they are only for OE Alliance images.
To install .deb in telnet, FTP the file to /tmp then use this command dpkg -i /tmp/*deb

With in any image you can download plugins from the pluginbrowser (Your Plugin Menu)
Just press the corresponding colour button for manage extensions / Manage.
Other third-party plugins you have to download and then ftp to folder /tmp
Use Software Manager to install local extensions then you are surten that the debian install file is correct installed.
What image is best is all up to you.
Since you have been a Vu+ users you might like Dream-Elite 6 special if you are custom to Blackhole/OpenBlackhole images

You can use Japhar images they are allways label "Original" for none clones.
For BarryAllen Images you should just upload them to your HDD instead.
If you dont have the folder backup just create one and add your images there.
