Bigger dish,more channel selection

  • Hi 2 U all,I wanted 2 know if a larger dish,ie,a 90cm upwards would benefit me in receiving more channels,taking not consideration my location as well,which is the north east,many thanks indeed,Micky!:caz:

    Required Dish Size Guide



    Satellite .-.-.-.-.--.-.------------------.Dish size for :-south east England ------------.North & West England..
    (Dish size's in the North & West will need to be 30 to 40% larger to achieve the same reception as the South East of England.)
    This guide is based on an 0.6dB Lnb with all dish size's.

    This is only a guide not all transponder's will be received if you are outside the intended coverage of a satellite,

  • i assume you have an 80cm now or smaller as your post states 90cm or larger, 1m orbital + black ultra gave me access to 4.8e and 0.8w and possible 16e (may be wrong when i upgraded from an cheap 80, all the other usual stuff just improved signal! (was a while ago though)

  • If you can get away with a 1m I'd go for that with a good quality lnb black ultra/alsat and a decent make dish a Gibertini. All this combined will help you get more signal which you will need when looking at feeds.

  • is there a guide like the one above for scotland?


    I am curious to see what I could get from glasgow although I live under a main bridge so my house cant recieve telestrial tv due bridge being in the way lol hence why Ive got satelite.
