There seems to be a very good choice .. so not sure what to buy .. .. My priorities are 4K UHD, Tuner versatility Sat + DVB T , PVR , K*di style add ons and FBC .. so looking for recommendations and experiences with what is currently on the market .. Budget up to around £250 .

Octagon SF8008 doesn`t have FBC Tuners, it has DVB-S2X & DVB-C / T2 combo (2x tuner).
If FBC Tuners are a must look at the Vu+ range of receivers. Vu+ Uno 4K SE will max out your budget and comes with a twin satellite or terrestrial tuner, not a combo.
Without FBC Tuner suggestions:
AX HD61 Combo 4K UHD Combo 1x DVB-S2X + 1x DVB-C/T2
Edision OS mio 4K UHD Grey 1x DVB-S2X + 1x DVB-C/T2
o do you not recommend the SF8008
SF8008 has 1GB of RAM, the other 2 suggestions have 2GB. Apart from that the features are all very similar.
If you plan to use Kodi, I would recommend the Octagon over the AX HD61 (not used the Edision, so can't comment). The AX uses the Zgemma Kodi meta, and that is glitchy and problematic in my experience. Octagon SF8008 is the best box I have used for Kodi integration...and I've had quite a few! lol...especially if you plan to use it for 4k/HDR content. I've also used a Vu+ Zero4k, which does Kodi well, so I would imagine the other Vu+ boxes would be good as well. Dollar for dollar, though, you are paying a major premium and I didn't see the benefit personally, unless the FBC tuners are truly important to you.
For standard E2 sat/IPTV usages, they will all perform pretty similarly as long as you have the tuners you need.
