I have tried to open this firmware twice already - first in a set-top-box under a depleted Linux, with the help of "fsck.cramfs" tool and then simply using a "7-zip" archiver under Windows OS.
But I haven't tried the third method, which I also mention above, because I don't have a full-fledged Linux - the necessary "binwalk" tool:

unpack & repack dreambox image on ubuntu,
put one good boot loader and install again on dm500

I've written in several consecutive posts that the firmware is probably irreversibly damaged, as I've also written that I don't have this problem.
Also I've written ... that the firmware doesn't belong to me. I'm not an interviewer. I did not write the initial question. You don't have to show me anything to try :). And I repeat once again the sentence you quoted but did not read:
