Need recommendation for south asian channels

Hello,

I'm moving away from Sky+ but my mum really relies on the timeshifting / recording functionality for a few south asian channels she watches.

It's mostly channels listed here:

Here are my requirements:

• Min. 2GB RAM
• Quad core CPU
• Internal hard drive slot
• 1Gbe LAN

This is mainly about future proofing & enabling my mum & others to stream from iPads and other devices whilst TV is being watched without any slowdown.

I want to bring my own HDD for recording, one option that looks good is the Gigablue UHD Quad 4k: https://www.world-of-satellite…vers/gigablue_uhd_quad_4k but doesnt seem to have 4K.

I also have a few other questions:

- will it work with my existing, dual-lnb sky dish (i.e. I can just swap out the boxes?)

- how can I get reliable EPG data (i.e. set it and forget it) I dont mind paying just want to never have to worry about it (if possible)

- what's the most user-friendly/sky-like firmware that I could flash on to it?

Also a follow-up question - I just noticed the Gigablue UHD Quad 4k is actually only dualcore - is there a quad core offering in this price range at all?

Edit: For example this Gigablue box confusingly has a quad core processor at a significantly lower price (albeit with only one dvb-s decoder, I need at least two)

EPG can be obtained with crossepg plugin for free

The old type sky lnb will work fine ....NOT the new sky Q ones....

Openvix or openATV and sky type skins called slyk will give you the sky look

Thanks for this, the box looks good but I was actually hoping to find something with an internal hard drive (and 2GB of RAM also) - presumably I should be fine to record to my NAS though if no hard drive?

Also any idea why the quad core boxes seem to vary wildly in price?

For example this one basically does everything I need, but seems to be about half the price of other boxes, am I missing something?
