  • what image you running campbell? - do you mean you have to initialise it or have to mount it? you should only have to initialise it once, but on some images it asks you to map it to a location. If it was a drive that was previously running an operating system or was formatted in a PC - it might be an idea to delete the partitions and initially create a fat32 partition - this can be done on a PC with EaseUS Partition Master or partition magix - either install it in your PC or use a HDD caddy (i have a couple of these and are great to have to back up and sort out HDDs)

Could be something to do with the connections - but before you do the messing you need to see if you can sort it out with the configurations on your receiver first.

If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....

Hi mate, i'm currently running BlackHole 1.7.1 Image, and yeah every time i power off the box it asks me to initialise it when i turn it back on. It's a 500GB HDD from on old sly+ hd box mounted internally, i have already formated it to FAT32 using EaseUS Partition Master.

  • press your blue button twice to get to the extra settings menu then select 'Devices Manager' - Make sure that your hard drive is set as device /dev/sda1 - and mounted to /media/hdd - if it is not, then press red button - there you can set the mountpoints, save and reboot - make sure that you have not chosen any network drives to act as a HDD, and before you do this, temporarily remove any USB drives you have connected. If this doesn't work, then in the settings - harddisk section, run a filesystem check to make sure tha the HDD is ok.

If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....
