Its possible the image used on the Golden Media is missing a module or dependency required by the plugin.
The only way to know why the plugin is failing to install is to do it in telnet.
Send the plugin to /tmp folder then run this command opkg --force-overwrite install /tmp/*.ipk
Copy the output from the command here.

Always install stuff from official feeds. There is MediaPortal.
I have no idea what mpgz is.
