What`s your budget?
What features and specifications do you require?
-
I would say Vu+Zero
-
Octagon SF8008
Best price
WI-FI
Modern ARM processor
It allows you to run Netflix, Disney +, PrimeVideo, HBOmax plugins

Hi.
As master G wrote, it depends on how much your budget is.
If you want more expensive quality set-top boxes, then definitely buy Dreambox (closed firmware / system with limited options if you want to make adjustments in the system or plugins).
Or also good, expensive, quality set-top box is Vu+ (open system with the possibility of installing any Enigma2 open-source distribution).
If you want cheap and good set-top boxes, try to look for brands such as:
Octagon, Qviart Lunix, Zgemma, Formuler, Gigablue

When choosing a device (it's not about the money) you need to consider how the manufacturer treats their brand! How quickly they intervene in the drivers and their modifications. Many software writers refuse to work with such vendors because they forget to give proper support. for example openpli has removed the brand vu+ from their support because they don't get in touch.
ps all sources are locked and only the vendor can change anything.

Vu+ ? Really ? Didn't you get it wrong with the Dreambox manufacturer? :)
Vu+ is a team of developers who escaped from Dreambox development and founded their own company Vu+. Also so that open-source code can continue. But maybe I'm wrong. Sorry if I'm wrong. I just "heard" that.
-
vu+ does not respond to simple requests from openpli for a long time. There are times when the manufacturer must make changes to the code. You can find out all the information from openpli on their website. this is sad for me because I have a Vu + receiver
-
As far as I know, these problems are with Dreambox and Qviart Lunix. These vendors give very little support for their hardware in terms of open-source Enigma2 distributions (firmware).
Not in the case of Vu+, which does not update the HW drivers for open-source set-top boxes (for Linux) too often, but still updates them.
After all, according to what you write, then there will be no current HW drivers also for the Enigma2 distribution - VTi. And that's hard to believe.
But I dont know. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not at all involved in Enigma2 compilations or creating Enigma2 distributions.

VTI last build 2020-10-01 13:02:12

Uhm...

QuoteWe strongly suggest migrating from BlackHole to OpenBlackhole.
The BlackHole image cannot be updated due to the fact that it is based on Git Vu+ and Vu+ has completely stopped software development for many years. For this reason the development at the moment is all about OpenBlackHole which is constantly updated and improved, is python3 and has many more features. Most likely the BlackHole image will be discontinued within this year. -
It seems that the cheap best buy is zgemma h92hse 4k, gigablue trio 4k or octagon sf8008.
Best buy for qulity is axhd61 4k.
-
I suggest Octagon Sf8008 (Ustym 4k pro clone ) or Axas e4hd 4k for best value, specialy with outlet at the time when i write this !
or Duo 4k Se for best overall
And gigablue / Ax / pulse 4k / edision for mid range but be carefull they arent all with 1gigabit ethernet_
If someone by the way from the team of OpenBh read this, if u can support AXAS xD please

I'm almost undesirable for this two receivers
VU+DUO 4K / DREAMBOX 4k
just to ask which one is the best ?
Thanks

Both have I think bad support for open-source Enigma2 distributions :(.
In addition, as someone wrote, Vu+ is already losing support altogether. Also, the VTi image for Vu+ devices as a special Enigma2, is no longer being developed. So it looks pretty bad.
I recommend some of the more "free" boxes, and these are:
Zgemma, Octagon, Gigablue, .....
From these, choose one that has all the parameters you personally require. There are very many models. For example, Zgemma has a lot of different set top box models.
