  • Hi,

I am trying to passwordless connect _from_ my solo2 receiver (latest openpli 8.1) to my local network host.

I have no problems connecting _to_ my receiver passwordless.

Problem is every time it asks for password:

    i.e. solo2_root# ssh name@hostname

All attempts require password being typed in.

I tried generating new priv/pub keys etc, copying them to target known_hosts etc without success.

Does anyone know whether this can be achieved ?

    Thank you.

    Bixo.

You need to create a password for user root

Don't rember in what menu for PLi but I guess it's Network maybe.

Just look around in the menus and when you find password. Set a new password of your choice :)

And some images also allow you to ligin with through the telnet. If you can do that without a password. You can create one with this commads.

Step one. Open Telnet connection with Putty/Dcc or any other terminal software. Make sure you chose "Telnet"

Step two. Login as user root

Step three. Type command passwd and hit enter on your keyboard

Now type the password you want to use and hit your enter button again.

Now retype the same password to save as you new password.

Now when you want to login use that password and all should work just fine
