Script to partitionate the "micro-SD Card (sda)" and the NVMe Hard drive (sdd) for octagon sf8008 Supreme

    * Here is a relevant script for creating 50 slots on the sdd NVMe hard drive


    First format your sdd NVMe hard drive with Multiboot FlashOnline V.7.1


    then, execute first script to partitionate your sdd NVMe hard drive.



    * Here is a relevant script for creating 50 slots on the usb3.0 - sdc NVMe hard drive

    And if you use usb3.0 adapter to connect your sdc NVMe hard drive to SF8008 or SF8008 supreme


    First format your sdc NVMe drive with Multiboot FlashOnline V.7.1

    then, execute second script to partitionate your sdc NVMe hard drive.


    Create-Script-50Slots-V6-2014-USB3.0-hdd0-NVMe-1TB-SF8008Supreme


    How to do ?


    1- Use the openatv-7.5 image as the first recovery image


    2- Install plugin Multiboot FlashOnline V.7.1


    3- Format your sdd NVMe internal hard drive using Multiboot FlashOnline V.7.1.


    The sdd NVME hard drive must be formatted in GPT mode, not Mbr, for the script to accept it.


    4- Execute the script to partition your sdd NVME hard drive.


    5- Install whatever Enigma 2 images you want using the openatv-7.5

    Menu

    Setup

    Software Management

    Flash Online

    Backup images



    Script update to split the micro-sd card : compatible with octagon sf8008 twin and supreme


    Create_x_extra_slots-SF8008-v1.6-10+25+55-Slots-mSD-card-32GB+64GB


    1- for micro-sd 32 GB - Max Slots 10 and the space allocated for sda5 data - 8.66GB


    2- for micro-sd 64 GB - Maximum number of slots 25 and the space allocated for the sda5 data - 9.72GB


    3- for micro-sd 128GB - Max Slots 55 and the space allocated for sda5 data - 8.59GB

    Script execution procedure:


    1- Format your micro-SD card 32 GB with plugin : multiboot flashonline 7.1

    open plugin

    Help

    select hard disk

    Generic (storage device) External (31.0GB)

    Initialize

    Green button

    yes

    initializing storage device finished

    exit


    and you can also do that with the HardDisk Manager of your image.


    2 - open openeight 6.8 enigma2 image


    - With DCC


    or filebrowser plugin


    copy your script file to:


    usr/script


    exit


    - Menu

    Extra setup

    image tools

    job manager

    choose script and execute it

    runscript

    wait ...

    and reboot device

    That's all!

    First, thanks a lot for valuable information and detailed explanation.


    After completing the process successfully and splitting the sd card, things went smooth.

    However,

    I have noticed when using the flashonline specifically, it accepts and dwonload online in slots 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5 and 6 only. For the remaining slots 7 - 55, the flashonline doesn't accept and it gives an error.


    Any idea about this please?

    Same problem here. Flash online only works for slots 1-5. For the remaining slots 6 - 55, flashing indicates an error.

    Flashing from the new recovery menu works fine, but only slots 1 - 10 are supported.

    I've tried with different images in slot 1:

    OpenAtv 7.3, OpenPli 8.3, OpenEight 6.8, Egami 10.4, OpenBH 5.3 en Hyperion 9.2.

    Same problem with all images.

    hello. i have sd card 64 g with slots in octagon sf8008. when i try to flash online a backup image from menu i get the error: error untar roofs. system won't boot! please flash backup! rebooting in 60 sec. what can i do?

    I have recently bought an Micro SD card 64GB and to install it on my Octagon sf8008 Combo ..


    I wonder if there are any new scripts other than the ones in this thread ... as when I try to download the :


    enigma2-plugin-extensions-multiboot-flashonline_6.5 or the 7.1 all.rar files the antivirus gives me warning that it contains a virus ...


    Can someone help and direct me to either a newer version or a clean one.

    my Combo, does not boot between one image and another, it freezes and I have to turn it off from the rear switch and then it goes.

    I've installed and after formattind microssd I've partitioned for six images.

    Now how I can install a new image on that space?

    COuld you help me to understand if microssd must be mounted before or not and how insert in multiboot menu path for microssd for installation I keep on seeing only four slot.

    I assume you have used the MultiBoot Flash Online Plugin ...

    You need to follow the steps : First Format Ext4 ,,, then Un-mount ,, the proceed with partitioning to the number of slots you need


    Then you are ready to flash any imgae ( your choice ) into those slots .... have fun.

    Octagon Sf8008 SUPREME Twin used for this test


    Used SanDisk Micro SD32GB, ample space to allow more slots but chose 12 extra.


    Should it be needed, enigma2-plugin-extensions-multiboot-flashonline 7.1.ipk attached, but as always to use attached install is your choice.......worked for me!

    Hello. Is this thread still being supported? I see many ununswered questions by the users.


    I wish to partition the Octagon SF8008 Supreme internal 500GB SDD NVMe hard drive because the SD card doesn't work (don't buy this box, it's bugged) therefore the only solution for not throwing it in the garbage bin (reciclabe of course) is to attempt to partition the SDD but it gives error, I enclose the log.
    I formatted the hard disk and tried to launch the script via a file manager plugin but it doesn't work. I guess I should try with a telnet command to launch the script but I don't remember it, if someone can write it here I appreciate.
    Any other thing I should try? I really need to get it working.

    Thanks dish but the problem is that the Supreme suffers of a bad microSD slot and it doesn't readit correctly, I have two SD well partitioned and with some images installed in but it doesn't read them correctly or if at stat it does it then looses them during operation.
    For being able to format the SD and install images I had to use another SF8008 and just then move the SD to this box... till it definetively gave up. So it's not the SD the problem.

    It says the slot that hosts the image I'm logged in is actually empty. Weird huh?
    And I am not the only one complaining for this problem and that's why I warn to think about it many times before spending money with this box.
    I could show other examples but this is not the right thread and I don't want to bring it OT but it's a way to show why I need to have extra slots in the internal SSD.
