How do you work that out, if they restored an old backup then new posts would just get added on after that?

Check the dates on most of the topics, apart from todays posts all the others are from last year?

Restoring a backup now will remove all new posts that are being made.

I did not say they were currently restoring a backup. I said it looked like when it came back online it was from a restored backup.

Sorry i should have said it looks like they don`t have a recent backup. All posts from april last year are gone and so is every file they ever had going back to the beginning of the forum.

I can't log in to site-universe, my password doesn't match and I changed my registration email because I had a problem with the previous email, so I can't ask them to send a link to change the password. does anyone know the administrator or any moderator of the sat-universe forum that could help me, I wanted to provide my new email to them so I can create a new password. thanks my user is the same as here ie hoffmann

for sure Linuxsar is an excellent forum!! I will never leave, I would just like to go back to using the sat-universe, because these are the two forums I frequent. I'll be waiting my friend, thank you.

Anyone else having issues logging in? I've been a member for years and it's not recognizing my password. I choose forgot password but I never receive an email and registrations are closed :-(

I've got a similiar issue it won't let me log in with my old details and unfortunatly the password reset isn't working, also there not taking new registrations so a bit snookered at the moment.

What we are witnessing is a textbook example how not to run a forum, and what happens when an owner takes a back seat and does nothing as long as the donations keep rolling in.

Obviously, there was zero research done before they upgraded to Vbulletin 5 because had they done so they would have realized that all the plugins they were used to are no longer compatible.

Now they are in a predicament because nobody likes the upgrade, nothing works, and they need to make decision whether or not to migrate the forum software to Xenforo.

They are also considering moving servers so expect a lot more downtime.

Just to add to the misery, their (s) mods room & assist admin are wide open through the top +5 mod and everything they are discussing can be seen (if you know how to look).

Their story about recent database`s failing is a lie because the owner didn`t have any.

On of the reason's why everybody should always use different usernames and vpn to access such kind of forums. Personal security first.

Being a satunivers user since 2009 I had no problem logging into the forum , as the latest backup goes back to 16 months probably the ones registered after that date have to create a new account!

I have same problem, all time wrong password, not possible get new one. I wrote to Admin but not get answer.

also not possible register new, all answers are crazy use old password and old user name, but that doesn't work either

if i go to "Forgot password or user name?" and give my emailadress not get new password

i can access forum without any problem.
