that method is correct there's another one but it's more complicated and requires Nvidia Graphic card.

Anyway for the ts you must record on the decoder using the option to record the frequency

Hello! I have already installed dvbsnoop on my Octagon SF8008 and I do find pids with the above command of pidscan. But I don't know how to proceed next i mean how to record a .ts file. Do I need another software? I would be glad if anyone knows how to do it and share it with us.

Now your going to have to do some reading, the end goal its to use dvbsnoop to record the transport stream to a location on the dreambox like /tmp or HDD

and from when i tested this myself, i keep these commands as notes in an old file..... BTW i did NOT ever get a useful recording on my VU ultimo4k.

       Sending dvbsnoop data over network, using netcat:

       Do remote decoding of dvb data over network using dvbsnoop and netcat:
         streaming site:
             dvbsnoop -s ts 0x0065 -b    nc -q  ServerName 31000
         reveiving site:

         You may also use e.g. dvbtools for sending dvb data over a network:
             dvbstream ....  -->  dumprtp  dvbsnoop -s ts -if -





NOTES
       dvbsnoop  tries  to  decode  all of the data it receives, e.g. if you try to decode a video or audio
       stream in section mode, dvbsnoop may assume a section table and will decode the data wrong. In  this
       case  the decoding will be garbage. Using the '-crc' option should prevent this (if supported at the
       hardware/driver level).
       dvbsnoop does not do DVB stream validation.  dvbsnoop assumes correct DVB streams. Corrupted streams
       or  streams  with  wrong semantics (e.g. incorrect length information) will result in wrong decoding
       output. For this reason, the use of '-crc' options is strongly recommended.
       Depending on the firmware of your dvb card, dvbsnoop may not be able to sniff  on  pids,  which  are
       occupied by other processes. This is no bug, this is a driver/firmware issue.



SIGNALS
       dvbsnoop  catches signals to provide smooth program termination.
          SIGHUP, SIGQUIT and SIGTERM  will terminate dvbsnoop smoothly.
          SIGABORT will abort at once after flushing buffers.
          SIGKILL  will just kill down dvbsnoop (OS specific).

Just wanted to say, I tried your list of codes on my Edision mio 4k Plus. All worked except for #5. I was able to capture the .ts and ran the file looking for powervu stuff. And with in 15 mins I was getting stuff. This way made the .ts file 1000x smaller and its the first time I've gotten a hit, been playing around with powervu for about a week. Thanks for the info.

you should start by recording channels that are always sendining Crypto8 so you are sure the recording is working properly. You could use NHL channel on 7east for instance

Here are tool for finding C-8 from .ts file with example .ts file
Requirements:
1- Receiver (All pids recording option must be available in box )
2- USB for recording .ts file (record .ts file minimum 1or 2 minutes in usb for only biss )
After recording upload .ts file in mediafire or any file hostage & link in forum
or search c-8 use c-8 tool in laptop or pc
C-8 must be high count like this :Count:62848

Unfortunately, my pc satellite card only supports diseq 1.0, so i cant use my rotor with it, can i?

you need diseqc1.2 or usals, do you have any other decoder that can move the rotor?
