Building a receiver yes no? Any tips?

    I have been running into problems with my old receiver lately and suspect hardware failure being at the cause of it.

    I have now been wondering if i should buy a new receiver or buit a htpc with a dvb card in it.


    I would like to run openelec on something like a j5040.


    Is this a good idea or just not worth it becaus?

    If doable what tuner cards are known to be supported by openelec and work with oscam?
