    good morning..this morning my qpyton 3 installed on my smartphone (android) has changed to qpyton +...and now im not able to open the py files..someone can help me?

    1. Check App Permissions

    After an Android update, storage permissions are often revoked.

    1. Go to Settings → Apps → QPython (or your Python app)

    2. Tap Permissions

    3. Enable:

      • Files and Media / Storage

      • Allow access to all files (if available)

    Without this, the app cannot read .py files.


    2. Try Opening From Inside the App

    Instead of tapping the .py file in your file manager:

    1. Open the Python app directly.

    2. Look for Open File / Editor / Scripts / Files

    3. Browse to the folder where your .py files are.

    4. Open one manually.

    If this works, the issue is just file association, not the interpreter.

    3. Reset File Associations

    Android sometimes forgets which app opens .py.

    • Go to Settings → Apps → Default Apps

    • Look for Opening links / Default file types

    • Clear defaults for your Python app.

    • Then open a .py file again and choose the Python app.


    4. Clear App Cache (Not Data First)

    1. Settings → Apps → QPython

    2. Storage

    3. Tap Clear Cache only.

    Do not clear data yet, or you may lose scripts/settings.


    5. Check Scoped Storage Issue (Android 11+)

    Modern Android restricts folder access.

    Move one .py file to:


    Internal Storage / Documents

    Then try opening it from there.


    6. Reinstall the App (Last Resort)

    If none of the above works:

    1. Backup your .py files.

    2. Uninstall the Python app.

    3. Reinstall from Play Store.

    4. Grant all permissions when first opening.


    Extra Tip

    If you are using QPython 3, note that it has had compatibility issues on newer Android versions. Many users switch to Pydroid 3, which is more actively maintained.

    So if reinstalling QPython fails, installing Pydroid 3 often fixes the problem immediately


    Most common cause: permissions removed after an Android update.


    Second most common: file association reset.
