Octagon SF8008 or Gigablue Trio

Hello,

I am looking to get a new receiver. It will be used for sat/terrestrial and IPTV.

I've got two receivers shortlisted in my price range:

The Octagon SF8008 is quite well regarded and supported. Only negative is that it has been around for a while and perhaps the Gigablue trio is faster? Having said that, it looks like the Gigablue receivers are also well regarded.

Any recommendations? Anyone had any reliability issues with either?

They are pretty much the same box, except octagon has option of twin tuner and also comes with built in wi-fi.

Trio is also discontinued now and replaced with the Trio 4K Pro

Hello, I have both. Personally, I think the SF8008 is better. Why? I find the SF8008 boots a little faster. Otherwise they are both the same.

Thank you everyone for your input.

I think I'm going to go for the Octagon. Spec wise it has similar CPU, RAM and flash to the trio pro.

Very little between them.

The Trio 4K pro has faster wi-fi and a BT remote.

Otherwise not alot between them.

And does the remote already work for them in bluetooth mode ? Because it didn't work for them and they only promised that it would work.

BT remote works fine
