Issues with hispassat 30w

    I read back all the posts and I am totally stumped. There is an image called openvix and it is very popular over here with great support can you flash that and set up from scratch, no restore anything. its on 6.6, then try a manual scan on 3ow. If no good then do a scan on thor which should work. we can then go back to Vix developers and may get a solution.


    I have to ask, is box genuine. And is it possible to get a secondhand one locallly? I looked on ebay and here they are about a 100 euro will check postage later.


    As the box works on thor or does it only work on certain fequencies?

    The box works with almost all channells from digi UPC direct , focus sat and M7

    The box is genuine , can't i repair the box? I don't really want to buy another solo 2 , i prefer to repair it , but first i need to kbow the problem with it , is it the tuner?

    Its not possible at the moment to buy another solo 2

    And what changes by flashing the box with openvix?

    By flashing a brand new image you are retoring the software in the box to a brand new state, then when box reboots it will automatically seek out the tuners, if it does not find tuner B then that is one of the problems, it will also install all the latest sat settings. If you are handy install openvix 6.5, click on archives, 6.6 is too new and any error could be blamed on newer image.


    What you are doing is a process of elimination, with Vix you can see debug logs etc. I never put multiboot on my solo2's but I bet I had a good reason.


    I checked the tuners on the solo2 and they are soldered to the motherboard. here is a pic. You could have a look and see if one is loose.


    Did tuner B ever work and did you bang the box!! or a thunderstorm.

    so when you flash vix have 30w connected and it will ask to do a scan say yes and make sure tuner B is shown as not configured. I can get 12476 on my solo2.


    You cant repair the tuner and it looks like a hardware fault, did you buy the box new? But one tuner appears to be working its getting it to grap the channels on 30w that's the mystery.


    I use signal finder a lot, then I use manual and sometimes automatic. I also download a channel list under plugins its called settings and morpheus has one that says 30w-13e so I would grab that and know the correct settings are in the box for 30w.


    Hope you grasp my idea. With Vix you go to system and logs settings then you can turn on logs.

    I already flashed vix 6.5 still the same :(


    And if i can't repair the tuner , the problem of hardware can't be repaired?

    I bet your using a Vbox ?


    If you are its experiencing interference at certain frequecies due to inadequate sheilding around the power supply and LNB cable inputs, usually around 11680 in the low band and 12430 in the high band, give or take a few hundred MHZ either way. It wont just be 30W either, it will also happen on other sats too around these frequencies, youve just not noticed yet. This can be caused by a nearby DECT phone , either your own or next doors. I had this issue too and the only solution I found was to wrap the Vbox in tin foil. It wasnt practical for me to move the Vbox somewhere else in the house and I do not have a DECT phone to move elsewhere, but moving the Vbox would probably have worked too.


    If you have a DECT phone then just move that away from the Vbox, if not try the tin foil, it really does work.


    If you can be bothered make a Faraday cage for the Vbox, this would be by far the best solution, but might be a bit expensive, if you were to buy a ready made one rather than making one yourself. Other than that your only solution is to buy a new Vbox with better sheilding, but finding new gear for those of us using proper dishes and mounts is getting harder and harder so the prices have rocketed.

    Wbox?i have vu solo 2 , I don't underdtand put tinfoil where? On the tuners? I don't have a dect phone , do you still have a box wrapped to send a photo?


    And it doesnt send power to the diseqsc switch , it only works one satellite on port A

    He is not reading the previous posts. Have you got as far as loading that settings file I showed you. The fact the box has a faulty tuner from the outset makes a lot of your efforts difficult. If you try with the settings I linked then I would say box is on the way out but as you cant chnage it yet then you have to try everything.


    Just try scanning the channels you can open ie signal finder.

    Are you using the morpheus settings file, its important. If I click FTA on kingofsat will it bring up those FTA channels?


    I am trying to establish where the frequency in the tuner fails.


    put kingofsat in google and see sats acroos the top select 30 w and then you can view fta and encrtypted
