You have to manually add the channels to the favourites bouquet either by uisng your remote control, or Openwebif, or dreambox edit. You should say the make of box and the image you are uisng but here is a starter using remote.

go to bbc1 and use up aroow and a list of chanels will appear with the cursor on bbc1 press menu and a menu appears, see no 7, add etc press ok then a list of bouquets pops up select favourites and press ok = added, repeat at will.

Rocco can you say exactly what you are doing?? That splash screen looks like a factory image. Do you know the IP address of the box? You could look in your router. That recovery is supposed to overwrite everything.

Also, try this but make sure the remote is pointing at the front of box ALL the time, may need 2 people. Press the red standby button on remote and keep it pressed, push power at back and still kee[p standby pressed. Wait and wait and see if box can generate boot menu but don't rush. Be patient and if notjhing at first repeat. how old is box? still under guarantee.

If I was you I would follow my suggestion and use openvix, recovery file, worrying about flashing later. So do file on usb etct and do the following

    3. INSERT YOUR USB STICK TO REAR PANEL JACK
Insert your usb stick to rear panel jack.
    4. RECOVERY YOUR BOX
Press the rear panel reset key for 3-6s power on your box in the same time.
The front panel logo led will display white color 20-25s, then change to red color and after
    3s goto white color.
Now your box will auto flash and recovery your box.

    Try that.

Go to openvix and select the emmc recovery file first, make sure usb is fat 32, then flash the recovery, make take more than one attempt. Then flash opnvix 6.4 full version. Take off any other usb sticks. Have you sat cables attached? Make sure box is all ready to use recovery but it may not like the USB stick. Did you flash it yourself?

Go slow, did you have more than one image on box?

Dan you cant fix a dish like that. The PIC I posted is the only way to attach to dish. You have to grasp a few things. That dish has to be bolted to the ground, You cant align a dish mickey mouse i e. using pieces of string. When I look at your fixings and compare to the PIC there is also a differemece in that where you have the elevation bolt you have the attachment at an angle, the pic shows it vertical. And your one has holes that I cant fathom.

If you look at the pic sent by BanjoXo71 you can zoom in and see his elevation, set yours to that for a start. And I don't have the manual for the motor but it must have listed the parts with pics. You can get a signal with a dish badly aligned but then you have to set it up.

I did say some of the advice given is a bit daft.

Look carefully at the PIC I posted showing the motor connected correctly. You have the motor pointing to the sky, see the big bolt on the side loosen that so the motor will pitch forward until you can attach the dish correctly. Now you can start setting angles but until you fix the motor correctly you will get nowhere. Just keep comparing the pics. And if you are going to move dish again do nothing until it is permanently in place.

I was hoping BanjoXo71 would explain how to fix the dish to motor but hey may reply later. Until you fix that dish correctly its a waste of time, trust me.

The fact you picked up 2 sats was a result and you could have peaked the dish/rig on 28east. Hopefully BanjoXo71 will take the trouble to explain the best way to attach dish to mount/motor. I would attach the whole lot while on the ground and then lift onto pole but that would take two. I think you said you were getting some slabs to put dish on BUT you may find out why that dish is bolted to the ground soon . Have you a clear view of the sky from your back garden? Any trees, high walls, houses etc. Did you get dish to move east to west and above all were you getting pictures on 28east and 23.5.?

What size is the dish in the background?

I looked back at your earlier pics and you almost had it correct apart from brackets on the outside instead of inside and they needed turning round if you look closely at the bend. Can you say how you got dish attached to motor? Did you put motor on dish first and then lift onto pole?? Or did you put motor on pole first ready with dish attachment?

Just say what you did in sequence and that may make it easier to get you sorted. Have you anyone to help you? The storm ISHA is arriving at 5pm tomorrow where I am so you have some time. Look back at that pic that was done before someone put red rings around. I'm in and out at the moment. Here is a pic of my rig 1.1m triax and dark motor, also a fixed dish for 28east. 16 years and going strong. Its 45e to as far west as I like but stop at 30w.

You have taken on a task that usually takes 2 men to complete. You are getting an awful lot of information some good lots bad. Configuring a big dish is not for the fainthearted and your particular set up is best left to a professional. If you had asked me from the outset what to get that you wanted to tackle single handedly I would told you to get a Gilbertini 1.25m dish and a superior dark motor. And I would have stressed the need for it to be on a flat base.

I am amazed how you are getting that dish mounted, your earlier pics were more accurate, the one where someone told you to remove brackets was a mistake. You have the 2 manuals. I have installed systems in the past but would not touch a channel master.

I don't know if you will ever get it back to look like the pics where red bits were shown on the bolts but if you can, then a simple option is to select 0.8WEST with a channel that is FTA and a strong signal Like Al Jazeera and Galaxy, one is Horizontal and the other is Vertical. You may already know this but when you select a channel on 0.8WEST you then move the whole rig, dish and motor until you get a signal, it takes a few seconds for the signal to hit the dish and get to meter/receiver so go really slow. You should also use a signal meter that will give you a picture of the channel so you know you are on the right satellite. I use a GT MEDIA 8 but may be superseded now. Once on 0.8W and you are east by the way, you tweak and tweak until you are happy. Tighten everything thing up and scan the skies. Here are 3 pics.

Focal length for the LNB is very important and I don't know if the lnb you are using sits in the bracket at the correct focal length but what is means is that the tip of lnb must be precisely set from the face of the dish. If its wrong you may get some channels but not all, hence using a vertical channel and a horizontal to fine tune set up.

Dan I saw all the pics that's why I asked for ones with a spirit level :woozy face: . That dish is only secure when the pole supporting it is bolted to the ground and I can assure you its not level and that's from your pic. I cant see the end of your garden so have no idea if there are any obstructions so a pic from just behind dish would be perfect. Any trees in the way? or houses. I would never install a dish that low down unless it was in a field. And I would struggle to align yours in present state.

Can I ask why did you buy a channel master???

Dan, is it possible to take a few pics of the rig as I requested? Its actually quite difficult to give guidance wiithout actually seeing the setup. Lets put it this way, imagine your sat rig is a gun, then it has to aim dead straight at each satellite, and the face of the dish has to be s square. The best way to show it is by referencing the 3 dots. If you are out by 1% you miss the satellite by 68 miles!! And you should have set the dish up on its own first and line up 0.8w but...

Would you pay to have it done correctly? And you could have got a Gilbertini 1.25m that is just as good, its light, and it can be set up using USALS .

Put it this way if you have every angle 100% correct and the rig is crooked you are wasting your time.
