You cant reach the motor so going to 0 is not required.

In fact without being able to reach the dish and motor you can do sod all and only mess with the usals.

Did the person installing the dish and motor know what they were doing?

Ok you had an installer put up dish and motor and I expect they were qualified so they should have done it correctly and showed you the sats for east and west. The only adjustment you can make is by tweaking usals and that is a no no unless you can access dish and motor. For some reason you have sussed out how to tweak the USALS but that can do more harm than good and in another post you mention an obstruction.

Put in the correct USALS and move dish to 0.8w and then take a pic of dish at 0.8w and post on here(tommorrow).

Now on 0.8w use these frequencies for gospel channel 11357H, 24500, 7/8, DVB-S.

You can see if rig is installed correctly all the sats you can receive from an 80cm dish as per post above mine.

OK it was late last night and I missed the length of the thread. When I asked did you set it up yourself I meant did you put bracket on wall, assembled motor, adjusted motor, assembled dish and set dish elevation. When using USALS you put in the co-ordinates of your house and depending on your location select the best sat to fine tune the dish. In your case its 0.8w. There are 2 channels I use the god channel and Al jazeera. One is vertical one is horizontal. I dont know how good your sat meter is but I use the receiver in my case a Vu+ Duo2. I have a gtmedia v8 finder as well but not used very often. The sat meter is not a lot of good if your rig is not 100% level. When you have the motor, dish, attached to wall mount and motor at 0 when you look from behind it should look dead straight like a gun barrel and the dish face dead square. If its not you will have trouble, Then pole has to be 100% perpendicular. If you meet these requirements you are all set. On the receiver in which you have already loaded a motorised sat listing. You do this via plugins and go to settings and select Vhannibal motorE2. Now you select Al jazeera and motor moves a fraction. You then move the whole rig until you get a picture. If you have dish facing due south to start the movement will be minimal. Once you get a picture you then adjust motor elevation, and sometimes the dish elevation but not often. You will see signal level go up and down so you settle on best. You have to fine tune lnb as well ie make dure skew is correct ie dead straight on arm for 0.8w. Then you choose gospel channel and check signal. I use % for signal so I get 68 on gospel and 77 on al jezzera, but I am a long way from you and use a 110cm dish with a black ultra lnb and DARK SUPREME motor and its set up 99.9% correct, high winds recently moved rig but I can use usals to adjust.

So in your case note the following and I am only helping you so dont get mad. The wall bracket is no good and you have already been told that but the reason is I dont think its possible to get rig 100%. That bracket is OK for sky. I have 3 dishes and one is like your bracket but its for sky. I also have another dish for sky but I used t&k brackets and the ease of setting up is chalk and cheese.

3. Your lnb is cheap as chips but ok for fixed I use an inverto quad but here's single., see pic, its very good for the fringes ie your dish and 30west.

5. I dont know your sat cable but I use the second best , well its good.

So in your case make the best of what you have.

Do this move dish to 0.8west. Then proceed as below. NB do you know how to send dish to 0? If you do do that. Then

Put in correct usals and dont change it. Make dish elevation 31.5, make motor 51 or 39 your motor bracket may have elevation on one side and latitude on the other. Then select 0.8w and move whole rig etc. Get best signal, tighten up and then try all sats from 39east to 30west. All the footie you need is on 13east but we must be greedy quite a bit on 30west as well.

So at the moment you are using the wrong settings and its quite likely the rig is a bit off but you did get a few sats. Do as above and see what happens.

I am scanning in a few sats using openatv6.4 and on 30west there is an AJE channel that Fta its Al JEEZEERA its 10890V, 27500 DVB-S, 3/4.

By the way by changing the usals settings you are tweaking the motor but it will throw all the other sats out. You can tweak but only by about 1% max and then you have to change back for east and west.

NB If you study this u tube video, its old but good, you will be good to go and especially the bit with the three red dots. The sats you are after are about 22,000 miles altitude so 0ne degree out on earth means you miss the sat by about 65 miles!! Hence accurracy. If you can set it up correctly you should get all you eed between 30west and 42east.

You need to say more and then its easier to help, all I know from reading back is that dish is 80cm and reciver is octagon sf8008. What is the make of the motor, and what image are you using, and what is the make of the lnb? Did you set up dish and motor yourself? Are you using USALS ie you put in your co-ordinates. Did you use 0.8west to start?

You only adjust the dish and motor once and then it tracks the arc. You say south east but if you give a town I can check better. I checked dover and dish should be at 31. Motor is correct at either 51 or 39. Can you get 0.8west and on the god channel what is the reading?

I cant access the box as easily as I would like but on my own today and I checked plugins and there are 2 in there that I may have added by mistake ie used wrong ip say 5 instead of 15 but when I try to remove them they do not appear under red button!! They are Levi45 mips etc!! Can I delete them via FTP but where are they located!! I am looking.

PS Found them in root/usr/lib and deleted them. Did full re-boot still a lag but will do.

I use this skin for a lot of people and they love it. I have it on an xtrend 10000 and lately it has slowed a bit ie I get a bit of lag when pressing say epg, mini screen will open and then a slight delay before epg displays. Image was installed Feb2020 and box has a usb stick for epg and an ssd for recording. Its only for 28east. What would cause the lag to appear and how do I fix? Everything is perfect on this box, toppicks updates automatically but I have a duo2 with openatv 6.4 as a spare and I cant get top picks to update automatically, have to manual run.

I am just starting with Pure2 on an AXHD61 box using multiboot but I am getting too many crashes. I am using a Sony Play TV DTT tuner for SAORVIEW and here is the first snag.

1. If I put box in standby and re-start I loose the DTT tuners but the epg still displays. The tuners have to be re-installed and this is by a hard re-boot at rear.

2. If I press epg box crashes and re-boots.

Here is a crash log. Image is version 6,5. I have 4 images in box. As I said brand new to this image. If this cannot be resolved then that's a bummer. I have used sony play tv for years I have 3 of them on solo2, duo2. and uno. Openvix, Openatv, Openpli and never a problem.

I may start from scratch and have just pure on box. Will await your reply.

Hmmm, it seems to me - and I am no coder, so don't take this too seriously - that you may have done more than just connect an iffy TV...

How many USB devices do you have plugged into the box? Which ones?

Do you have a USB hub connected, with at least 2 USB devices plugged into it? Could they be the same, by any chance?

How did you mount your devices? Autofs or static/permanent, by killing the Autofs/automount?

One of the added devices is a USB wireless keyboard?

Did you change the skin?

Which EPG plugin did you install?

How did you configure...??

On second though: terrajoe could you have a look at this log, please?

Which brings me to the next stage: PurE2 is sometimes way ahead of some other images, so some incompatibilities are possible... It may well be a good idea to start anew...

Reformatting and installing PurE2 in the 1st partition. No added devices... Configure it with Estuary only!

If all is well, then start adding your USB devices... Slowly, one at a time and test it, so if all is OK, then add another...

Let's see the logs then...

just a little bit extra. Everything I did was if you like in auto mode, ie flash an image and follow instructions. I know how to download plugins, drivers, cams, skins, set up network, insall ipk files etc but not a lot more. I expect the software to detect the HDD its an SSD. The only USB is at the rear is the sony tuner, I tried to load a sky skin but no good .

epg would be crossepg, epgrefresh, epgimporter.

I don't have a wireless keyboard!! It came with openatv 6.3 in slot one. I flashed pure, vix and HDF, hdf is the most stable but still iffy.

The drivers for the play tv is this one, dvb-usb-dbo700. As image is 6.5 i'll post on from now.

this if mu first try with Pure 2 and using an AXHD61, Not dowloanded any epg yet but will try importer. Estuary skin looks neat but new to me so need to play. CCcam238 is glicthy, stops starts, Works fine on duo2 with cccam230. I know this is arm chip my first box with ARM and I think its iffy. Whats the best cam to use??

I deleted all the partitions so only pure in slot 1. Here is some feedback.

1. When reflashing

When I erased images box crashed but it recovers quickly ie does not re-boot

2. After flashing pure was still in slot 3 so deleted it box crashed.

3. Updated online 176 packagaes very quick.

4. The sony tv tuner was still working this morning after being in standby, that'a a plus.

I have 2 boxes say, a solo2 in one room and an xtrend 10000 in the other for family use with a openatv image on the xtrend and a kiddac sky skin works a treat but the odd blimp can mean a programm is not recorded. So simples I setup s solo2 in offcie with opbh4.3 image and kiddac skin record same progs and then network mount both boxes..... BUT where do I go wrong. I go to mounts do all the entries and then when I try to connect I get this message """ directory/media/autofs/VUSOLO2/does not exist". Now I had setup a mount with the solo2 to a duo2 with a few clicks and all works. On the xtrend I tried a few times so now I have a list if links under the yellow button titled bookmarks. The yellow button says location on the solo2. The duo2 has openvix. What am I doing wrong and how do I completely delete those extra entries?

I am stumped so help.

How do I configure time shift to just use as a buffer and not have it recording every prog I zap to? Its filling up the disk!!

Well what can I say- but wow. All done and I have done all the mods etc. I got 2 skins on box the 1080 r19 and the Q 1080. I like the Q a lot. I have a few observations.

1. Picons , with the r19 I have missing icons on some channels but with Q they re-appear!! How do I get them back on r19? ( I think they will choose the r19 ) And how do I get a picon on a channel that has blank at moment? I could not get picons on info in r19 but ok on Q.

2. With r19 and Q when I press tv button I get all channels and when I press ok there is a gap i.e numbers 96 - 100 are empty. Did I muck up and can I fix it?

3. On the Q can I change the prog banner to yellow?

6. The movie planner on r19 is perfect but can I make any changes to the Q one?

7. is there any way I can make the print larger when on a channel and I use the up arrow, its the text on the left.

8. This is for me is it possible to the mini window on the right?

9. Finally can I lock the skin so no one can muck it up?

I should add I have a channel list on a Uno box(vix5.3.016) and I just upload that to the duo2

I want to set up a duo2 for a friend and they like the sky look. What is the best image to use I like openatv but openvix is also available. They want the sky epg with the yellow banner and the green button showing planner etc. I like those topicks version. If I load the latest sky skin will it come as is or do I need to add additional mods. I had a read on here last night so may have got myself confused.
