I have been using the sly Q skin with Vix 6.4 since Dec 23 in a DUO4KSE and it has been flawless. To allow me to use NFS between my UNO4KSE I had to update to latest Vix 6.6.013 and did so about 2 days ago. However, last night I was testing the NFS function by playing back Emmerdale on each box and it worked. I went to switch off the Uno AND came back to this error message on the Duo4kse. see pic.

I am flummoxed(mad) but as I had to delete the sly q skin does this mean it will no longer work with 6.6.013? And why not.

See his first post. Say he is watching one channel and he may be streaming on another channel, then when he switches channel he wants to use another reader as the reader he is using on the other channel may be still in use with the streaming channel.

This is an update, I updated to latest Vix 6.6.013 and did a restore of everything and evertything looks good. NFS installed in a whiz and I then conencted 3 boxes. And they worked but all 3 boxes were set to record emmerdale and coronation street, which the did. Now when it came to play back thats when the trouble started, using FF caused the recording to jump and go back to start. This was on the ET10000, the important one!! I had a uno4kse hooked as well and this has a vix image and same problem would FF play and then on next FF would jump back to beginning. Now when I press the OK button when playing a recording the blue timing bar keeps jumping across the screen. Here is a pic with it paused and you can also see liitle dividers that dont normally appear.

Is it my error and is there a fix? It does it on all 3 boxes but recordings from yesterday are fine!! Its the blue bar that keeps jumping

No power all day, I tried opkg list- installed >/tmp/my_installed_list.txt via putty but got unknown command.

Can I use any other method than nfs to access another box? and will nfs work with vix 6.6?

I'm trying to get my head round it. checking all plugins some i dont use anymore like jedimaker. I will take screenshots of all i have. Box not touched since dec 2023 and my memory is fading. When i go to plugins and press green i get all the usual options. I have nfs on the uno4kse can I xfr it over via ftp?

I tried that and it attempts to download but fails and it ran opkg update and that failed. 6.4 is too old. I have box just as I want it, skin, iptv, etc ABM and so on. If I updgrade to 6.6 and do a restore will it keep everything?

I want to connect my Duo4kse to a UNO4kse in another room using NFS but NFS wont install on the DUO4KSE, I get the option to install and reboot but when I check it just goes back to do you want to install. I have loads on this box and don't want to update yet. Is there another way to install NFS?

To get a proper reply you need to supply the correct information, what receiver, what skin, what version of oscam, can you use ftp, have yoy tried downloading another version of oscam as that will put the correct files in tuxbox. Its all guesswork at the moment.

car123 you are right, I updated to 6.6 and it deleted all my bouquets, rebooted into simple 1080 skin, and nicam 15.00 would not load no matter what i did. it was working perfect on 6.5. But I dont trust new versions so I had copied over to my d: all the nicam files and replaced them in etc/tuxbox/config/nicam. the strange thing was oscam still worked.

So you need to say receiver you are using and the skin. You also need to know how to ftp ie filezilla but I use winscp with windows 10.

Something gets corrupted when the update is done.

I use softcam manager to start and stop.

ps main box has 6.4 and wont be updated for a good while

This is weird not even sure when it will actually be available, the dvbs2x is for blind scan but how good that will be , anyone’s guess.

I have tried with 3 different providers and same result. My conclusion is that the encryption method used is defeating the softcams. I have resigned myself to 30w as a no go. I have many alternatives so not too bothered but for those with static dishes iptv is the solution,

Ok read this but you have to set a static IP on the DUO2 just turn off DHCP and restart network. Make a note of the IP of box. Then read this and the protocol is TCP.

Just to add a bit to avoid confusion, the new service is called FREELY , do a google, and its built iin to new tv's more and more manufacturers are including it. Its an app that runs as iptv and looks awesome. The tv will have a DTT tuner as ell to get FREEVIEW. The rollout of ntioal FIBRE broadband is the key.

Just to make it clear FREEVIEW is the name of the UK Digital Terrestial service ie receive via an aerial. FREE TO AIR(FTA)is the correct name for those channels on 28east and the SKY DIGITAL platfform that carries these channels has renewed the contract with SESuntil 2029 so 5 more years at least.

What model of vu+ box do you have? and what image and skin are you uisng? I have a few VU+ and use a vu+duo2 to drive my motor using usals.

To get your exact co-ordinates use google maps, put in your postal code and zoom in until you can zoom no futrher then right click on mouse on red balloon and see your co-ordinates, write them down. I use tuner B to drive motor, its best, select B cofigurtaion is simple, mode use right arrow to change it to positioner, type in longitude, east, then latitude, green to save. Thats USALS set.

With usals you can use any sat to align the rig, that refers to motor and dish. so for you have motor at 0 and select 28e, dish will move, now move whole rig until you get a good signal. I get 100% on 28e. As stated above the whole rig has to be 100% plumb,
