Do you know how to FTP to box and delete the skin? And did you install shared components before installing skin?

I dont know if you have done this already but with the power on hold the power button on the remote for ages. But I'd say its toast.

I had 2 to fix and could never get them to work. Its down to the epg getting stored in internal flash eventually the box dies.

One other method was to put usb in with image and hold white button in and power bit on front for ages. I used to get boot

I told you the correct file is EMMC on Openvix. If you go to Vix downloads you will see what I mean. other images may not have a recovery version.

use the EMMC image unzipped and you may have to try quite a few times. Were you using a usb HDD and can you say where you had the epg saved?

If you have a HDD installed now disconnect it before attempting to lfash. You may have to try numerous times and use different usb slots.

Therer are 2 boxes the latest with the HDD sticking out at rear, the oldest is with the hdd enclosed ie you have to take off cover to install. If you have the one with the internal and you had the epg saved to internal flash they are known to have problems.

try flashing using the emmc file with openvix image but you may have to try different usb slots and quite a few attempts if all these fail then box is dead.

say how you are trying to flash, explain what steps you take.

The power supply on these boxes can be the problem, have you any spare ones lying about. Flashing by USB is not the way to go unless you want to use the recovery files denoted by EMMC zip. Also are you formatting the USB to fat 32 before loading the image, that box can have a dislike to various USB's/ I use CRUZER or integral but have quite a few.

Also if its the one with the internal HDD and the epg was saved to internal flash it may be a gonner.

I had to go out. Flashing via USB will delete everthinng as long as you do a complete install, that means configuring everything and saying NO to any prompts like restore seetings, plugins etc. But getting the box to recognise the USB is a problem.

Are you sure the internet is working I went to flash online now and there is a 19/5/2026 version of openatv 7.6. Can you do a network test ie try to download plugins. In network I said yes to ipv6 . You can do a clean install online as well and its quicker.

Once flashed you set up swap and expander by going to system storage devices and follow the prompts. you also do mount in device manager. Once all that is done you can set up ABM, EPG, SKINS and then ensuring epg is saved to HDD you can add other plugins.

And I added bouquetmaker and xtreamity, go slow and you will sort it.

If the box does multiboot you should flash the EMMC version of the image.

I set up an H2S with open 7.6 and its flying but you are jumping all over the place. is the 1tb hdd connected via usb?? Have you set up a swap file and ram expander?? all new images are bloated. I know ipv6 is a pain and a new protocol.

doing a factoryreset is a no no. you may be getting the openatv splashscreen as that can be embedded.

openatv is best for that box, go menu information about and see what it says. and report back

you need a bootlogo.mvi file, and that has to be flashed to box or if memory serves me right can be ftp"d. But have a look here

I would read post 6 above and if you use a big USB say 64gb or bigger you will have a box and a half. I did a swap file and ram expander.

I sorted it out in case anyone else looks in, I turned hdmi cec on one box and it mimicked the ttvremote so the volume symbol on the TV popped up instead. Was doing my head in.

Snap, great minds done that. As this box is just for SAT and I have installed everything. I was just curious I was told switch to windows on the openatv forum

Got another hs2 box to do now so started from scratch and nosed around. I have asked elsewhere but can I disable geolocation and is it a requirement to have intenet access once box is set up.

I know I can use VPN , would rather not but don't know how to install one in enigma2 box yet.

How do I turn off geolocation? Also I could not get the network to work with DHCP turned off. As a matter of interest this box is only going to be used for watching all the FTA channels on 28east. Do I need the network as I no longer know what downlods via internet and what is via sat.

I'm using a zgemma H2S with swap and flash expander only32gb usb ,but thats what they want, in use and I am well impressed but dont like the geolocation bit and why is it required?

I am updating 2 of these at the moment and I am using openatv 7 .6 once installed if you press and hold the power button and you will get the option to create multi boot if you select it just follow instructions once done you can create as many slots as you like so can try other images. AND IT CREATES A SWAP FILE.

ABM e2iplayer is there but don’t know if it’s any good. Croosepg has to be added. Open is good enough for me other mentioned was openspa. Box is 9 years old it was for iPab iptv and very good it was, ahead of its time.

is playing great with the fix above but tried openwbif just now and can’t get it to steam, blank screen. I have VLC on desktop and tried a few browsers.

Is this a glitch with this image?
