Hello, dear friends, sorry, I have installed my motorized dish.I am sure that the base is level. Only if I go in one direction and settle down exactly on the direction and then push or pull the dish forward and backward to test up and down, the signal quality will decrease in any case. But when I push or pull the sides of the dish (right or left side of the dish) forward, the quality increases.
For the hotboard that I use, when I push or pull the top and bottom of the dish, the quality of the signal decreases, but when I pull the right part of the dish back, for example, the quality increases. Please advise what is my problem and how can I solve this problem. thanks

I have installed my motorized dish.I am sure that the base is level.

Good, a level mounting pole is the very first step. This must be perfectly level on all sides.

and then push or pull the dish forward and backward to test up and down, the signal quality will decrease in any case

That is a good thing, that should mean your elevation is correct, AT LEAST FOR THAT SATELLITE.

hotboard that I use, when I push or pull the top and bottom of the dish, the quality of the signal decreases

Again this is good, that should mean your elevation is correct for hotbird.

but when I pull the right part of the dish back, for example, the quality increases

This means that you are not quite right with your East / West adjustment (left or right)

1z1z - What size dish ? Where are you located ??

With a motorised setup, you first start on strong satellites just to get a rough idea of where you need elevation and your basic east / west adjustment.

By using strong satellites like hotbird - it becomes pointless for fine tuning - the sat signal is very strong anyways.

You need to then use weaker signals / sats for fine tuning.

You also need to use at least 3 sats for setting it up, this is to ensure you have the full arc of the motor working correctly.

I personally try to use 39east - 0.8w and 30w. All 3 of those sats have strong signal. But any 3 sats would work, you need one far east, one far west and one in the middle. Once i am happy i have good signal on all 3 sats i then find the weakest TP for each of those sats for fine tunning.

My current dish in use today has an arc from 39east to 14w (due to limitations of where the dish is )

Here is some strong channels by sat to help you setup (in all cases these are free channels)

    14w - belarus-24-hd = 11.0 db

    0.8w - Music Channel = 12.9 db

    4.8e - 1+1 Ukraine = 13.7 db

    4.8e - 24 Kanal = 14.9 db

    23.5e - RTS Svet HD = 13.8 db

    39e - BBC World = 13.9 db

Post back your dish size, what sats you can receive with out issue.

  • Hello, I have been traveling to Turkey for a few days for work. I am going to be there for 2 months. I have a fixed dish and a motorized dish in my current place of residence. Considering the fixed dish that is set up on the hotboard, for example, the signal quality on one of the channels is 80%, while after setting up the motorized dish, the signal for the same channel is 75%. No matter how hard I tried, the quality did not improve. You get all directions covered from the easternmost to the westernmost. All conditions are the same for two similar dishes. The dish size is 90 cm. LNB Invert Black Ultra.

I myself originally live in Germany and I also have a motorized dish there and I set it up myself, so I easily have all directions with high signal quality. I would appreciate your help.

The moderator did the right thing by deleting unnecessary posts. You decide where you want to put the =antenna with the motor=. In Germany or Turkey. Previously, many topics were printed about the -=motor= setting. From the deleted posts, you live in Cologne. And for Cologne, the true south is 4.8-5e, possibly 7e. In my program for determining the location, Cologne was not there. There are other cities in Germany. If the photo helps you, the flag is in your hands, we will wait for an answer about the correct -=motor= setting.

If you need the true south in Turkey-/city /-???

From your post i can see you have done this before, so you have experience already which makes life a lot easier for everyone :thumbs up:

If you are happy that you have set the motorised dish up as best as possible, then i would check things like the satellite cable, connectors and even the LNB.

As you said you are away for work, so i take it these are not your own dishes / cable / lnb.... and so the condition of these are unknown ?

  • Hello again dear friends, in general, if after adjusting the motorized dish in any direction by pushing or pulling the sides of the dish, i.e. the right and left sides of the dish back or forth, we encounter an increase in signal quality, what is the exact solution to fix this problem and what should we do to have the best quality. Thank you again for your guidance as always. Thanks
